This is amazing. Rarely see coaches give a message like this while coaching, he understands coaching is not only on the ice. Great message, hope these kids register it

I had a really similar situation with my youth hockey experience. Got burnt around my freshman year in hs then came back to an AMAZING coach that actually cut me from the tryouts. He even talked to me personally and said, "youre a good player but we have to bring back players from the previous team". Apparently the kid who took "my" slot was a problem on the team and I got a phone call from the coach saying "How would you like to win the championship this year with our team?". I may have been the water boy on the 3rd line, but we won the championship. Best experience of my life with a great team and the best coach.

Seen alot from this guy. And this is the best advice. Especially to the group. Much more effective than individually

Training only goes so far. Passion takes one as long as it is alive. First, have fun. Second, do it right, third, have more fun. Carrot and stick

Oh yeah? Well my coach taught me it's not worth playing if you don't win. His name was NOT Gordon Bombay.
