Keeping on track - a Bridgnorth Yard update from the Severn Valley Railway

This operation looks like a big difference now from "the good old days" back in the 1960s and 70s when a gang of volunteers would show up on the weekend with a tractor, roll up their sleeves and "get stuck in". With today's health and safety concerns, approved contractors are an essential part of the operation along with inspections of every stage to ensure safety of the public. Great work!

Interesting to see that the points to the yard/locomotive works are being moved in front of the bridge, it'll be a nice change although I will miss the sights/shots of locos waiting behind the bridge to switch into the yard (if they are moving the signaling alongsied the points

It’s a real shame though that the overbridge couldn’t be put back in, and the route back into the tunnel established. It would provide a great storage as that tunnel is double width isn’t it? It might even provide a psychological boost to find a way though the golf course and who knows back to Lindley Halt and even Ironbridge. Much bigger obstacles have been fought and won in preservation ?

The Railcams keep having issues and breakdown sometimes.

The Railcam is off for the duration of the project but will return to KZbin when we start running services again in March. Stay tuned!
