Looking at the number of views versus comments this post gets, you have obviously given a fine answer to a question that people are too embarrassed to ask in public out of fear of looking stupid. The fact is, not everybody intuitively knows about these things, including me. Thank you! This entry is a public service, and is what the internet is all about.

Those wire nuts having the silicone will probably hold up better than a standard wire nut, but in general wire nuts are never recommended for use in an automotive application. Solder Sleeve Heat Shrink connectors are also super quick (although not as quick as the Drycon method), and cheaper (assuming you already have a $10-15 heat gun), and rated for automotive use, and probably provide a better connection joint. Not hating though, those Drycon connectors would be great for an outdoor project around the house, and they'll probably hold up fine on your bike as well.

How did you wire the power to that soundstream amp? Which wires did you use? 🤔 Trying to put mine together, but there's 2 black wires, 2 red wires, a blue wire, etc... Confused... I'm not much of an audio installation guy.
