Hi Relle. You are my go to channel everytime I need to learn how to cook something popular from Hawaii. I was thinking it would be cool if you did a series where you took a popular, classic, Hawaiian cookbook and try to prepare every dish one video at a time. I was thinking of that book "Our Favorite Recipes" published by the Maui Extension Homemakers' Council. Feels like everyone I know has one. Anyway thank you for making these videos. I'll no doubt be using them for the rest of my life. Aloha.

True blackening does not use oil. I have been blackening since the early 80's.

Blackening refers to the spice, the process of cooking can vary. You just been using the term wrong for 40 plus years.
