What are the ingredients in those blends you used? Can’t jet off to Hawaii today to get some, so I have to DIY. I’m fixing to prepare some of this very thing tonight, and I haven’t ever done it before. Yellowfin has been my latest favorite with salmon being the general fave fish. Basic S and P are a given, but when I last attempted Chilean Sea Bass I wasn’t pleased at all, I winged it and guessed on possibly the worst options.

The island volcano seasoning is talian seasoning, sea salt, Chilli pepper, garlic, onion, pepper, spices, paprika and vinegar... the other Dakine Hawaii rub is cane sugar, lemon pepper, salt, garlic, sea salt, coffee and parsley. Thx for watching

@@ChefDawg it was great! Big hit with the wife! Initial idea was to bake it with some seasoning. I don’t have your fancy stuff, but I put together a little bowl with salt, black pepper, paprika, minced garlic, garlic powder, and oregano. You gave me the idea to do it in a pan with oil and butter. I overlooked it slightly…your heat level and times were right on…I should have listened more closely. This came out great. As long as they are thawed this is SUCH a quick protein for dinner. Tasty and healthy, what’s not to love? Thanks again!

It is hard to do. I don't mind in a little bit burnt though so I'm different but I turn it down and flip the meat a bunch and if it gets to the point I think it will be burnt I take it and finish it in the air fryer

I add garlic cloves cut in half, and in the middle of frying, like when I flip a fish. It still imparts that delicious garlic smell, and half pieces don't burn as fast

Adding in the garlic later, or precooking it at low temp to flavor the fat, strain off, so you don’t get the burnt bitterness.

If you add the garlic and oil to the pan while it's cold, and heat it up gradually (not on nuclear like in the video), the garlic will not burn. There is no need to use high heat with aluminum pans.

Bought the Mahi Mahi from Costco and delicious. Just asking though.. Why does a chef use processed garlic? Why not chopped fresh garlic? I have heard many negative things about how minced garlic is processed to the point that it is so gross that I refuse to buy it any longer. A chef should always use fresh! Unless Costco is paying for this review and that makes sense.

You burned the garlic - should have used whole crushed garlic, extracted the flavor , removed the browned garlic, cooked the fish until flaky - the middle was still raw. This is not acceptable since the fish was frozen.
@religionisapoison2413
@religionisapoison2413 5 ай бұрын
Fish from frozen is safe to eat raw if following storage guidelines by FDA. If it's frozen at the store, it follows those guidelines. I agree about the minced garlic in a jar though lmao. But yeah dude, it's fine to hardly cook or even eat raw frozen food especially if it's farmed.

Is everyone buying this Mahi Mahi at Costco in the States. We used to buy this all the time, we are in Canada & now our Costco sells a different brand of Mahi Mahi & it is not the same at all.
