With AEW you’re being told by Tony Khan, Dave Meltzer, the wrestlers on the roster, the podcasts and the Neckbeards how great it is, how what we witness with our own eyes each week which is, in my opinion, a product that has gotten worse over time, is actually the best it’s ever been … but the numbers with Ratings tell you the exact opposite of that. The ratings have gotten consistently worse, as have attendances. So when someone says, “what they’re doing isn’t working, they need to do something different”, and you have Tony Khan, Meltzer, Jericho and the boys, Podcasters, Neckbeards etc. all saying “nope, everything is great, you’re just a hater” they are not living in reality. The whole thing about Ratings, Social Media and Attendances came about from fans who tuned out of the product as it got worse, said it just not good and getting worse, got told by the people I listed that they were wrong, so people fired back with the Data that shows that actually it’s not wrong, it’s factual that they’ve lost almost 50% of their audience since 2021

@NJTRAF Simple question for you.... WHAT are they going to replace AEW with that gets those ratings in that time slot on a weekly basis? Comparing ratings between two wrestling shows is irrelevant. Even bringing up AEW's ratings are irrelevant. Why? Because reruns of friends or big bang theory would draw even less ratings than AEW. The argument about the ratings rely on these mythical shows that draw 50 million viewers that would replace AEW. AEW ratings dropped, but they are still better than their alternative options. Fans really aren't as smart as Jim Cornette makes them feel they are.

@ almost anything, realistically. Where the hell you come up with this 50m rating nonsense is beyond me, they only need to draw 600k or more to be more successful than AEW on a Wednesday, and more than 300k to be more than AEW on a Saturday. Big Bang Theory currently averages just under 800k, so reruns of that show are a bigger draw than AEW Dynamite. They could quite literally fill those 2hrs with more Big Bang Theory and get more viewers. Modern Family averages just under 300k. Young Sheldon averages just under 700k. They could quite easily replace AEW and draw more of the same viewers as they currently get. The one advantage AEW has over those shows is the POTENTIAL to gain more viewers. Dynamite is potentially a 1m viewer show, they’ve (inconsistently) hit 1m viewers now and then from 2019-2021, maybe 8 times? And averaged between 800k-900k… so AEW is obviously a risk/reward show. The risk that WBD take on with them is that they continue the downward trend from 1m to currently average under 600k and drop to 500k or below… but the reward is that they somehow turn things around and get back up to that 800k+ average viewership.

i don't believe AEW's TV deal, the financial side, is real. All the points brought up in this video really make my point for me: 1. AEW's audience is like 40% of what it was on the last deal 2. WBD lost $10 billion in 2024 and ended a lot of big time contracts due it... yet they have $500 million+ for AEW?! 3. Keep in mind that the original deal for Dynamite was $45 mil a year for cable rights. So, now they're paying $170 mil a year for the cable rights to Dynamite and Collision, streaming rights on Max for Dynamite and Collision, and ppv rights on Max. It's not that great of a deal when you factor in everything Warner is getting for that $170 mil.
