I had a day like that on Friday (just gone) - mid Wales -but going East to West, from Rhayader around Claerwen dam / reservoir, over to LLangurig. Trans Cambrian - which I think you have done a couple of times. What a miserable, miserable day it was, but the things that amazes me Josh, is that you are able to keep filming and also wild camping. (I managed just 2 photos all day!) Due to the piercing cold and driving rain I very nearly gave up. It is more than a little inspiring to watch your adventures in all weathers. 40mm tyres, wet gloves, river crossings, head winds, damp clothes, cold food, mechanical issues, Welsh endless hills....WoW!

Love your channel and adventures, especially in Wales ❤ Welsh cakes are actually really scrummy straight off the griddle or just cooled, but I agree with you ' totally underwhelming out of a packet. A good rich Bara brith with salty Welsh butter nearly as thick as the slice is my fave for winter adventure snacks, impossible soon as things warm up 😆

Thanks so much for your fabulous videos. My husband and I planned to do the South UK and Welsh sections of the GB Divide last summer but had to postpone because of the airline issues (we live in Canada). We'll be back. I love all your videos - thanks for all the posts. Two cooments: eat more veggies(!!!???) and I'd love to know some tips for camping and the subsequent packing up after days and days of rain. Keep smiling!!!

Fantastic video again. Its amazing how you keep going in the face of multiple set-backs and still manage to keep up the quality of the filming and the engaging content.👍 The route looks great, albeit especially hard at this time of year. Seeing your contagious positivity getting you through such brutal conditions is amazing. Hope the final part gives you a break.😂 Can't wait to watch it.👍😎

What a way to start the Welsh leg riding on my home roads around the English/Welsh border, understand why you went home to swap bikes although there’s lots of decent bike shops in the area and even one in Shotton on the Welsh side that fixed Sean Conways bike when he was doing his round the UK triathlon. Great video as usual

Great to watch your trips, these have inspired me to do another this year, if we can get the trains sorted (which seems harder than the actual ride) Have you had any experience of taking a bike on a train dismantled in a bag? seems the only option 🤥

Surely you must have been freezing especially walking through the river your feet must have turned to ice yet no complaints? No saddle soreness? And how do you keep going all day, day after day? You must be soaked at the end of the day and then have to put wet clothes back on. Some serious Epic cred here.

i just give it a good shake and separate the inner and outer before putting it away, and carry a little micro towel. if it's dry in the day and i'm going to be stopped for a while i will sometimes try and dry the outer.

I break a rear mech every now and again £1200 is just not worth it for me. Last time I looked at them the whole using them with drop bars looked more hassle than it's worth. Nice bits of kit but just not right for me.

@@KeepSmilingAdventuresusing sram shifters is more expensive indeed. But on flat bars you have a different shifter. They shift even better. I know its a lot of money but so are the derraillair, sprocket and chains (every 5000 km new sprocket and chains at least). The Rohloff is always cheaper in the long end. And more maintanance and everiment friendly. . Good luck anyway and i enjoy your video's .

I love Welsh Cakes, but I avoid the ones you bought. Not really sure any packaged ones are worth buying. Best eaten fresh and they should be very lightly cooked and pale so they are not dry. I was wondering how you stayed dry in that constant rain and wasn't surprised to find your waterproof gloves were not waterproof by the end. From my own and other's experiences, I'm beginning to think there's no such thing as a waterproof cycling glove. I seem to recall @KatieKookaburra bought some marigold washing up gloves when riding All Points North last year. Not sure how you stayed warm in those unrelenting condition. Just above freezing and wet is far worse than below freezing.
