Hey everyone, thanks for tuning in for another bikepacking adventure, where this time I continue my quest to link all the capitals cities of the UK. Last time I cycled from Edinburgh to London, so now it's time to head to Wales. Hope you enjoy this one, and thanks again for stopping by. The route will be available at www.keepsmilingadventures.com (SOON) And if you missed the first part then check it out here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haqbaYt5dtSJipI Thanks Josh Keep Smiling Adventures

Fantastic. we are very lucky with our autumn sunrises. Have just built a flat bar gravel bike to hit the trails round dorset, I've been a hard-core mountain biker since it all began so I blame you for getting me into gravel and I'm so pleased I did. Keep up the great videos. Dan

Enjoyed that 👍. My grandfather used to cycling to London from just outside Swansea quite regularly during the late 1940s, on a single speed. As a keen cyclist myself his adventure has always blown my mind, especially the route he took. It was all country B roads and lanes. 😎

This is a great overview of so many of the bikepacking rides I have done over the last few years (I'm based in Surrey so often head west via Reading) I was up on the Ridgeway this April, planning to camp, but ended up staying in a hotel because I fell in a massive puddle and got ridiculously cold and muddy. Josh, you are tougher than me - I am impressed you always manage to wild camp! This video has made me want to ride the Ridgeway again, though maybe in the summer.... 😅

Great trip. The Ridgeway looks like a motorway compared to when I did it 30+ years ago.

Brilliant mate, it's crazy how much history this little island has. I often think the same as yourself. loved the narration as always. 💚 :)

In Wales, that low lying, inverted cloud above the trees is called Dragons Breath. Great video again,

Great show as always, Josh. And your drone shots get me excited to be on a trail again Your keenness to get out of "The Smoke" is understandable, however, I now live in Highgate N6 and we enjoy loads of greenery and quiet if you know the area.😀

That stretch of the ridgeway heading into Avebury can be awful, it’s rutty and when it’s wet the mud is like custard over the chalk….I’ve run it a couple of times - never ridden it, so that’s the next plan 👍

I would love to do something like this. How do you find places to wild camp? Would love to see a video or comment going over your process of thought when you choose a site. I'd be so paranoid a land owner or someone with bad intentions would find it. I really wish England was more camping friendly.

Grate video as always. I live beside and ride a good portion of the initial route, so it's good to see it in all it's glory. You've got one slight error I don't know if you can fix.... at 1:40 the caption says sAnbury... it's .sUnbury.

Very enjoyable. The Ridgeway looks stunning at dawn, maybe one day I'll get a suitable bike for it. If I was going criticise.. (noo!) I found the pacing a bit uneven. Wales done in 2 minutes, I feel short changed!

Aha well the next section of this series will of course feature wales quite heavily as i ride from Cardiff to Belfast, once I’ve completed putting the route together. The welsh part of this route isn’t particularly interesting.

Is there going to be a Belfast to Edinburgh final leg to complete the circle ? You could go mad with that one, island hopping via Islay etc.
@lydiagould3090Ай бұрын
Nice one! Looked a fun adventure, and wonderful weather .Were you tempted to push on to Belfast? That will be a tougher ride with the mountains.I'm local to the Ridgeway and have felt ok about camping up there, yet felt very uneasy in the woods in Surrey
@KeepSmilingAdventuresАй бұрын
I haven’t completed putting the welsh part of the route together yet, so thats for another day.

I'm a new subscriber and have a question. Why do you carry so much in a rucksack. Would it not be easier to get it all on the bike
@KeepSmilingAdventuresАй бұрын
Its camera gear. The rattles, the shakes, are not so got for cameras. So it's better to keep on my back. Also, I can keep the batteries warm with my body heat.
