A ref can give an unfair advantage just setting up a targeted criteria for fouls before the match. For example, if the ref wants that a team that is less skilful and tougher physically have a higher likelihood of winning a match, against more skilled one just needs to rule out a foul in the 50/50 situations only when there's a huge difference in the applied strength over these challenges. That upsets immensely any skilled player and often gets some players booked booked and even red carded. I'm not saying the ref did that intentionally, but the loose criteria made the boy getting himself in trouble. Just for record, a loose criteria or set up for less skilled teams probably sinks the skill level of any sport, specially soccer. Talent, which is rarer, must be protected, as it is what attracts the audience in the end of the day.

A great game from a neutral standpoint, but Victory booing a 17 year old kid because he was being fouled and manhandled on and off all night is appalling behaviour. He shouldn't have abused the ref for that second yellow but how was that not a free kick?

@@joe5300 Flopped? He was marked from the first whistle, which is fine but there is a difference between hard marking and tripping/shirt pulling. Also booed another 17 year old, Musa Toure, when he came on and he didn't even do anything wrong. Dumb & racist fans.
