Brisbane Roar should play their home matches at a public venue like Perry Park. It’s a waste of money and space using a stadium like Suncorp if only about 2000 people will turn up every week

Aren't most A League games like this. I watch WSW and note the empty stadium yet when they were winning the Asian Cup the ground was packed, most of them appear to have been glory hunters.

It's not as easy as you think to simply give Brisbane Roar complete use of Perry Park. Everyone should read up on the history of Perry Park let alone Football in Brisbane/QLD. It's the home of the Brisbane Strikers who failed to succeed in obtaining an A-League license in 2004. It was awarded to Queensland Roar. If Brisbane Roar was to, one day, succeed in playing out all (or majority of) their home games @ Perry Park, one would also presume that Perry Park will be shared with another Brisbane-based A-league club. The 3rd Brisbane Local Derby* of the season can be played out of Suncorp. *Brisbane Local Debry is a 'Friendly' Derby between 2 sets of fans based in South-East QLD. It would be more like the 'Merseyside Derby' (Liverpool-v-Everton) and nothing like 'The Old Firm' Derby. The Brisbane Derby will be a great day out to unite all football fans in displaying their passion for the game they love. Oooh yeeaaahhhh!!!

An absolute shadow of a once formidable club. If there is any club that reflects the A-League’s demise in the past 5-6 years, it’s the Roar. Lacklustre crowds, poor on-field and off-field investment, and a genuine lack of enthusiasm interest from a Brisbane cohort, culminates to a poor football club. The glory days of Ange and Roarcelona are a mere distant memory under the current circumstances. If the A- League is to ever replicate its popularity and success, the roar would be a great place to foment genuine support.

Until an A-League 2 comes into effect with a promotion/relegation system, this sort of pathetic turn up and performance from teams like the Roar will continue. If you don't give cellar-dweller teams something to play for, why would they bother turning up?
