You should open up the KFE kube 12 subwoofer open I wanna see what’s inside of it and also the kef q650c center channel if possible.

ciao è possibile avere una foto in dettaglio di un componente sulla scheda di alimentazione?

Hi, thanks for your question, but I no longer have the subwoofer to be able to photograph the power board👍🏼🙏🏼

It's an odd design because it was meant to be the LF section of the XQ series, the 3001/SEs and the LS50s. The levels when played direct match seamlessly and the htb plays up to around 500hz like the woofers to a floor stander. It's still in production as the T2, but it's ultimate purpose was to prototype the next gen LF drivers and serve as the LF section to the 300X/SEs which alone accounted for both the 7th and 8th gen Uni Qs before they blipped out of existence and were repackaged into the blade and the LS series with the same exact specs and voicing.

@@kaygeebee9155lol ill add to that if your mind isn't already blown. Look carefully at the "new" T2 slimline sub that's supposed to be designed for the T series... 😂😂

@@linkeddevices hmmm, they do oddly share some very similar specs, and I recognise the plate amplifier from somewhere else as well 😂😂😂

Hi, thank for that. Did you find out what the problem was? Mine has no output at all. It just stopped working.

You're very welcome. No, unfortunately not, I didn't have the time to investigate this particular unit further and just sold it for parts🙏🏼

@@anthonyvincent5892 did you find the problem, mine does the same?
@anthonyvincent58924 ай бұрын
@dallenorm hi, I took mine to bits completely, I discovered a wire loose on the amplifier board. I first checked the speaker by putting a 1.5v AA battery across its terminals, I could hear it crackling so the speaker was functional. My advice is only to take it to bits in extremis as it is an absolute bugger to reassemble. Check that you do have a sub woofer signal out of your amp...check it's not muted and the volume is not down. If you take it to bits, check all the wiring and fuses (I can't remember if it's fused or not). Good luck. Reply if you need more assistance! Vince

Hi there, thanks for this teardown. Could you confirm the case is made of plastic or painted cast aluminium ?
@kaygeebee91552 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. I can confirm the doughnut chassis is made of plastic which is painted👍🏼

It's a mix of both like the ls50. Rubber gaskets bolted together to create an air tight seal with aluminum magnesium internals at key spots. The out shell is plastic since it'd be odd to have it be both and plastic is a strong glossy material. The foot is entirely metal and weighs a solid 10 lbs. The ls50 has a plastic baffle with rubber gaskets tightened against the wooden rear with metal bolts. It's the same concept.
