KEF PSW2010 250 W Subwoofer Teardown

I have this amp for almost 20years, and quite happy with it, the date marked on the board is 10 mar 2003. A few years ago, It started overclipping during movies (explosion sounds), and then it started to cut itself off. Until it would not turn on anymore... I let it rest for a few month, and started it again. It worked for music, but somehow not for movies... A simple door slam would cut the basswoofer off, even though I regulated the power to a minimum. Until it ceased to switch on. Everything inside the electronics appears as new, except right top to the two big black 63V12000uF, a plastic connector with 3cables, 2blacks and a center green has traces of overheat with a yellowish to brown color at the lower black. Probably due to heat the plastic has hardened and the connector broke apart as soon as I tried to disconnected it... Is this reasonably repairable, maybe DIY? Or is this overheat symptom a sign for a more serious fault in the system ?

Could you do a demo of this subwoofer, because i am considering to buy this subwoofer. But there is no other vid on youtube were they test this sub, the only thing they do show is the ''famous buzzing problem''. also this subwoofer is very populair on used products sites, so probably a lot of people search, ''kef 2010 demo'' but there are no demo's so you would be the only one. So could you do that i would highly appreciate it.

That thin plastic chamber for the amp plate is really a bad idea....it must add vibrations to the sound. Also reduce the performance of the mdf box. I have the 1000.2 one and its the same. Its suficiente to movies but i was unable to tune it for music. No markings on the position of the buttons for you to "remember" previous settings.

can you wire them to a amp that has other speakers so does it need to have those matching ''eg'' speakers

is the subwoofer loud like can it move stuff around a room that is 4x6 and is the bass accurate/ low? would this subwoofer be good for songs that have a whole lot of bass because i am a bit of a bass head

+Sebas Zoontjes the sub plays pretty loud you can feel it in your chest . It gets low and its punchy being a sealed enclosure

That's because the 20 in its model number has nothing to do with freq response. It can't play down to 20 Hz lol . It's 30hz to 250hz
