Welcome to part 2 of my 2 part series on setting up a kegerator.
These guides are designed to be generic and should be useful no matter which kegerator you are setting up be it manufactured purpose built or home built.

BIG HAIRY 💪 ALERT!! I really like the auto close springs. That is a massive tower!! Duo tight is the only way to go IMO. The ball lock cap on the rear is really nice! Cheers David!! 👍🍻

Many thanks Brian. Yes, these 4 tap towers are big and easy to work with compared to a 3 tap. Duotight and autoclose springs sure do make life easier :)

Hi Dave. Great video! I like the idea of pumping cool air into the tap stand, I'll add that to my converted freezer. I noticed that your beer lines are very short, how do you adjust the flow to prevent foaming?
@DavidHeathHomebrew
@DavidHeathHomebrew 3 жыл бұрын
Great thank you. These are 4mm ID lines. 3M is probably all that is needed but as its split 4 ways ive allowed some more in case. My 3 tap runs great on 3m at 12 PSI/5C.

Hi David, I've finally taken the leap to kegs and preordered the series X in the UK 😁 Now deciding my regulator setup. I see you've gone for a 5-way manifold. If I went with 4 or 5 inline regulators would I need a manifold as well? I'm guessing you have both to control the right carb level for each keg. Thanks a mill.
@DavidHeathHomebrew
@DavidHeathHomebrew 3 жыл бұрын
Great to hear. Yes you will need a manifold to split the co2 then add an inline reg to each is easiest.

Hello David, I know I had a lot of questions lately. Here my idea for a video as ROI :-) A rookie guide to fermenting with temperature control. Comparing cost of a inkbird setup with second hand fridge and plastic bucket (incl how to use) vs steel bucket va fermenter with pump vs fermenter with glycol. Also with aspects of brewing cost etc. what do you think?

Great video as usual David!! I’m about to start kegging and considering a Kegerator as well, I’ve got (a newbie) question: With the manifold, how do you know which pressure each valve has? Or you need to use the inline regulator and you just didn’t show it in the video? I’m asking for the scenarios where you want to carb & serving beer at the same time Thanks in advance!
@DavidHeathHomebrew
@DavidHeathHomebrew 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Edgar. The manifold simply lets pressure though at the rate that you set your regulator to. For individual control inline regulators are the solution.
@edgar.valdez
@edgar.valdez 3 жыл бұрын
Right, make sense, I think it’s better to place the manifold outside the kegerator when using inline regulators as it might be bulky and hard to operate when it’s inside. Thanks again for your time and patience!! I just started in this whole world of brewing and learnt a lot with your videos!

@@DavidHeathHomebrew you could probably use some double stick tape? Not sure with the cold and moisture though.
@DavidHeathHomebrew
@DavidHeathHomebrew 3 жыл бұрын
I would go with some thick but short screws if I do. The manifold in my other Kegerator tends to rest on top of a keg, so is also freestanding.

Hi David. I have the same kegerator and I just setup it up with one tap because I am using commercial kegs/beer. I am having big problems with foam. So I have 4mm tube 3 meters long. Is this too long? What is the correct/recommended pressure (PSI)? Is there a different set up for commercial kegs or same as corny keg? Help please.
@DavidHeathHomebrew
@DavidHeathHomebrew 3 жыл бұрын
Personally I am using 3-4m on my kegrators at 5C with 12 PSI of pressure. This works very nicely with Intertap and Nukataps. I suggest trying this and adjusting from there if needed.

It is an autoclose spring. So when you finish pouring you simply let go of the tap handle and the flow stops. Pretty handy and ideal for avoiding big problems if a pet or child plays with your faucets.
