Looking forward to seeing your review. I've been eyeing this up for a while as it's the most economical stainless fermenter for double batches.

Thanks Aidan. Yes, very economic for sure.

This is simple and genius for sure! It is too bad that shipping to Canada is ludacris I loved this concept so much that i got two 58 liter keggs from a friend and will be welding 4" ferrules on top and 2" on bottom for installing heating elements.

Nice video mate! Like I said on FB I’ve been looking at one of these. I currently use their 20 litre kegs as a bright tank, but that limits my pressure fermenting to either 8 or 16 litres ( I have a small keg for doing small batches). Now I have a system that can quite comfortably do 25 litre batches of normal strength (5-6 ABV) into the fermenter it seems a bit silly doing smaller batches (may as well use the Brewzilla which is actually going to become my 10 litre experimental rig!) and I was already looking for some bright tanks! These maybe it! So again thanks mate!

Another great review - thanks David. I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts after using it for a while. I’d be particularly interested in how you feel it compares to brewing in a corny keg, which is cheaper and seems to occupy a similar niche.

Interesting product. Only drawback is that the wider size would limit being able to use in a converted chest freezer.

Another well done video - thank you David! This fermenter definitely has it’s strongpoints, however the biggest downside to me is the weight. I’ll need to compare it with weight of Spike Flex Plus for comparison. Just know that keggles aren’t enjoyable to use once I switched to stainless brewing kettles.

How do people handle 50L+ of liquid plus keg weight when they're working at this scale, please? What's people's work flow for this?

I have one of these the only fault I can find is getting a signal from a tilt. You will need v4 of the tilt or a repeater. But I love the product you cant go wrong with this one.
@DavidHeathHomebrew4 жыл бұрын
Great, thanks for the heads up ;)
@Dogsdoodas4 жыл бұрын
Just for information you can use a v3 tilt but it is a struggle to get the signal best lay your phone on top. I use a raspberry pi4 and it repeats the signal onto the network just fine with a v4 tilt. You can even check the progression online anywhere in the world. With a couple of washers only to replace it's a product for life..which makes it great value.😁👍

There is plenty of room to top crop from this system and after transfer you can add water and transfer into a container for bottom harvesting.

@morse i'm debating this or the fermzilla all rounder - one plus for the fermzilla is that you can see inside to stop transfer at the right time...

Interestig product. How would you setup a heating/cooling system for this as to ferment at stable temperatures?
@DavidHeathHomebrew4 жыл бұрын
You could set this up in a fridge connected to a temp controller. You will need to add a heat source, I would suggest something direct like a heat belt.
@WitchburnBrewing3 жыл бұрын
How do you recommend measuring the temperature, could you tape the temp sensor to the side with some bubble wrap or will that be useless with the stainless steel?
@DavidHeathHomebrew3 жыл бұрын
I add the temperature probe to the middle bottom of the unit which is a flat section of these. There are holes on the bottom of the unit that allow a temp probe to be inserted and fed in. I attach the probe with plumbers putty, which gives a very accurate temperature reading. I showed this late in this video:- kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbVaoCrh6eti6s

Such a bummer that most stainless fermenters only allow for 25L-ish while I can make a good 30L in my Brew Monk system. Even the new conical fermenter from Brew Monk allows up to 25L. Doh! The next step is always way too large.
