Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe has demanded that Sir Keir Starmer "immediately guarantee" no other British overseas territories will be handed over after the Chagos Islands were given to Mauritius.
Lowe, the party’s business spokesman, wrote to the Foreign Office asking for confirmation that no further plans are in place.
On social media, Lowe urged Starmer to ensure Labour won’t surrender any other territories.
The Chagos Islands, including the key US-UK military base Diego Garcia, were handed over in a deal aimed at securing global security.

Those discussions appear to have started under Truss. But why discuss it at all ? And why Mauritius ? Mauritius has no political or historical claim to the Chagos. When Europan settlers landed, there were no islanders at all. There have been bad foreign affairs decisions before, but this is utterly bizarre.

​@@timg1246 It started waaay before Truss's fleeting premiership, with moves made as early as 1980s to compensate & allow the return of the islanders who were forcibly displaced by the UK in the late 60s/early 70s. This process culminated in a ruling in 2019 by the UN International Court of Justice that "continued British occupation of the Chagos Islands was unlawful". However, given the malign influences within the UN, leading to its abject lack of impartiality and credibility, the UK should have continued to stand firm and stick 2 fingers up to that decision.
