More like what a bunch of neglected morons seem to think their imaginary view of the world is the facts because some disgusting post on social media says it's the immigrants' fault. Despite the fact homeborn whites make up a disproportionately high amount of their share of crime committed in this country. But they like to ignore that when they're screaming idiocy on the streets because Farage and Tommy Robinson meekly insinuated they should. You're pathetic.

Even better why not go back further, a hundred years ago we didn’t even have a full weekend! Just a Sunday off if you were lucky. And before that in Victorian times many people worked 7 days a week to support their families. The people in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s were job shy weaklings compared to those lot. I say we go back to no days off and even less employment rights so we can slave away to make profit for the rich and powerful!

Exactly! It's just building a two tier society. Not everyone has a choice to work from home apart from office-based jobs. Also has an adverse affect on the struggling high streets with less office workers out shopping at lunch-time. People will be just stuck in their homes and have no interaction all day. No wonder so many people say they feel lonely.

You think that because the right wing media tells you to think that. And the right wing media tells you to think that because they are in bed with corporate landlords who want to discredit working from home because their cash flow from corporate office space is drying up. Try thinking for yourself. Stop being a sheep. Stop being easily manipulated. Stop listening to “news channels” with an obvious agenda.

I recently had to call my council and I had a stress out mother on the phone with her children screaming in the background, whilst I needed to discuss a discrepancy of my council tax bill. Of course it all worsened the situation and now I have to sort out the mess she has created by being not fully 'there' to deal with my issue. Often they 'don't have access to the system', which they would do if in the office or you call somebody and the call disappears into oblivion. Possibly because they can't be bothered. In the meantime, the council building is standing there, empty, being heated in winter, cooled in summer and most of the staff are security. The young up there should go back to bed, he clearly had a very long night and he looks totally hungover.

What about those that have to be in a work place for their working day, like retail, nhs, emergency services, care workers, factory workers, production workets, etc, etc?! Also, UK productivity and GDP per capita is amongst the poorest in the west, cut working hours any more and that is hardley going to improve! Countries that are prepared to work harder will just gain a bigger advantage!! The UK already has extremely good working conditions, compared to the USA for example, where even holidays are not an entitlement!! Some companies there allow workers to take a holiday, but very often unpaid, same applies to sick leave, maternity leave etc. Where there is paid holiday it has to be earned by continuous years worked. Here, holiday leave is paid and automatic as soon as a worker starts with a company. Our economy is in the sh1t, wage growth is poor and yet people want to work less, wtf?!
@lindaaih
@lindaaih 22 күн бұрын
Terrible argument. Those in retail benefit because people spend less on their commute and more with retailers, NHS less likely to be pressured to be sign people off sick due to toxic office culture, carers not stuck in traffic because the roads are blocked up, people can check in on elderly neighbours and relatives on their UNPAID lunch breaks eases burden on carers and emergency services. If your job can be done at home the proof is in the pudding what you've been asked to do is done to time, cost and quality.

It doesn't matter if the person at the end of the phone is at home or an office as long as they have full access to the information and can provide what you need. If the nature of the job means you cannot deliver the service other than in an office then thattis what is required. I suspect many jobs can be done remotely with no service impact, some can be a hybrid mix and some might need to be fully office based. Its then up to individuals and businesses to work out what works for the role.

@@gazevans1038 you shouldn’t get the same pay when you’re not commuting, getting food on the go, lazing around watching daytime tv in between zoom calls and moving your mouse so you look busy.

@@MrC.1990 What has commuting got to do with it? Employers don't pay their employees for their journey into work. You've never worked from home have you Mr C? If you did then you would know that buying a mouse jiggler just moves the mouse .... it doesn't do your work for you. And if the work doesn't get done then what do you think the employer would do?

4 day week should mean less money, and only the idiots support a 4 day week. I'm 42, and I love being in the office.

I suspect employers will still expect their employees to work the same amount of hours so if you currently work an eight hour day it would be raised to 10 hours.
