Ok, I'll weigh in on this. I never asked for much. A kind word every once in awhile. Initiate a hug when I'm obviously down. Listen to me vent sometimes without judging or dismissing me etc. A simple story from my life: I had a dog walking job years ago (I loved it). It was summer and we were in a heat wave so it was hot! One of my clients left me a kind note and a bottle of water knowing I'd be spent after a 30 minute walk in the heat. That made my week. That's all it takes sometimes. A little kindness and compassion goes a long way. Busting our balls all the time just pushes us away then when the woman asks about it she's freaked out by the honest response. 🤷‍♂

The irony is that a single person would have to do all the housework and cooking for themselves anyway, and any extra work such as cooking, putting in an extra chop in the oven, and a little extra laundry, etc., is negligible. Therefore dividing up the type of work (e.g. housework vs. paying bills and home maintenance) is beneficial and time saving for both parties. Not to mention that it’s cheaper for two people to live under one roof than two people living in two separate units. The problem is that a lot of people are just difficult to get along with.

As an older man that has been alone (by choice) for the last 15 years, I can add my 2 cents worth; if it works for you, then cool. If not, I at least added a perspective you might be able to draw from. Wants are all well and good, but in the end, it is NEEDS that must be met. Men may want a hot body or something like that (at the front of their mind), but at the back of their mind they are going to need: 1) Honesty- if the man can't feel as if he can trust his partner's words 100%, he's going to always be suspicious or wonder what isn't being said. Also, please remember that what you say isn't always as important as HOW YOU SAY IT. 2) Integrity- Integrity is the quality of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness or earnestness of one's actions. Integrity can stand in opposition to hypocrisy. How has American culture gone down hill over the years? The decline of integrity and the rise of hypocrisy. To me, an easy way to think of hypocrisy is the "Do as I say and not as I do" mentality. (yes, I got the definition from wikipedia; it hit all of the important points I wanted to highlight) 3) Trust- In the end, while guys may be all tough and hard-as-steel on the outside (at least for my generation; Gen X'er here), on the inside, unless we have been severely damaged by toxic relationships in the past, we are just as soft-and-gooey emotional on the inside at times. Mentally and emotionally, we take damage and get hurt just as much as anyone else. 4) Love/Warmth/Understanding: Guys in this day and age, suffer from a huge amount of "you don't understand what I am going through" (most people nowadays, to be honest; might be why today's suicide rates are so high). We also have trouble finding real love; instead, it is usually "I will love you right now, until the next love comes along". Nothing hurts a guy more than being abandoned or left for the next guy that rings her bell a little louder. Betrayal will usually cause a guy's heart to harden to the point that it doesn't feel much of anything (or at least anything positive). It becomes a landmine for the next relationship that comes along, waiting until one callous word or deed that reminds the guy of what created it sets it off. 5) Respect- respect is a two-way street. A guy has to give it, but he also NEEDS to receive it. In a lot of ways it is just as important as love. Something else to consider is this: no one likes being taken for granted! Guys. Girls. We all do NOT do well with this shark swimming around in our bath tubs! Because these needs aren't being met, a lot of men now are choosing to be alone. Needs not met one way can be filled other ways. Feeling lonely? Hang out with buddies. Feeling tired? Take a nap/get some sleep. Hungry? EAT! Western/"modern" women ignoring or overlooking you? Go someplace else! As we get older, men adapt to survive. In our youth, it might be a need to reproduce, to keep our family line going. But as the years move on and our priorities shift, as we gain wisdom, as we take our lumps and get our scars, we eventually evolve into a complete and total human being; THAT is when the dynamics start to shift. Once the guy has evolved, it then becomes a matter of "I don't NEED you around to make me feel complete. I WANT you around for the unique individual that you are". Any of this make sense?

Main points that a woman brings to a man her chasity which means no sex before marriage and stats have shown that if a girl hooks up more than 5 times to different guys then the marrriage is more than likely going to fail. Her youth as the longer you wait to get married and if you want kids it will be harder for her to conceive, Her sexuality/fertility and making sure her guy gets it anytime he needs it. also her feminity being friendly and nuituring of her man and offspring.

A cooperative non combative woman bringing her straw to the function of unity is the utmost appreciation a man can have. great message! Sadly this is hardly a society in which you can rely on a woman to care about this since economy simply isn't enough for the luxuries most want, unless you are willing to sacrifice this for the greater good until change happens in broader scale.

Could be a decently long list but men want 1) sex 2) love (ideally as unconditional as possible) 3) peace/ a girl who's not a headache (not getting into a fight with us because we didn't say we'd love you if you were a worm or some other dumb shit) Those are the BARE MINIMUM there are other things but even getting those 3 is hard and even just those 3 will impress a man

I think a woman should bring stability, care, listening, kindness, humor, and understanding. A relationship requires effort from both partners. Both people should be supportive of each other emotionally and physically.

Masculinity is about external stability, while femininity is about internal stability. External stability are things like safety/protection and resources. Internal stability are things like warmth, kindness, and support. Both can provide external and internal stability, at least to a degree, but the primary focus starts there. Relationships are about supporting each other. So a man can be supportive emotionally, it’s even encouraged. It’s part of being protective. External stability is where that is drawn from. What makes something relevant to external stability can contribute to internal stability as well. Which we can’t forget about the fact that men are people too, so inevitably, there is going to be subjective qualities expressed and cared for. Which is why I don’t describe these as object vs subject oriented tasks or stability. Was about to but then I saw the flaw in it. Basically, I agree with the video. Just added my perspective on masculinity and femininity.

First things that come to my mind would be compliance, energy, & supportive thoughts, words, & actions. There are a lot more dimensions to this that people have lost touch with, but they get unlocked the more true love is present. Also: Trauma & insecurities (subconscious fear, guilt, & confusion) impede one’s ability to exercise their dormant pair bonding capabilities (love, loyalty, sense of reciprocal duty, etc.). - You could boil a lot of this down to a value for value exchange of energy, often times. The man brings money, energy, attention (powerfully attentive, attuned, benevolent, focused presence), and time to the woman (and money is so often just a distilled combination of the latter 3). Many-if not most-men’s egos WANT to be the primary provider, and would be happy if the woman was at least sufficiently grateful and not entitled. And then women have their own fortés when it comes to how they nurture-but they have just as many hours in their day, and opportunities to lavish their loved ones back with their energy, attention, and time in some meaningful, desirable fashion.
