A few of the people at my gym, including a female are pro Keirin racers. I thought they were a team, by the way they train together. I was surprised to find out that they have the potential to compete against one another and were not team members at all. Another cool observation is the way the experienced athletes take under their wing and train the younger, newer riders. I am looking forward to the opportunity to see a race live. @oldtwinsna83478 жыл бұрын
These guys make a lot of money so there isn't as much incentive to transition out when you're already in. The best ones can earn millions and even low ranked amateurs can pull in more money than being a domestic rider on a pro tour team. And if you had the aptitude to do road racing you'd head in that direction to begin with anyway. These guys here are much more focused on explosive strength, while road races (even "sprinters") devote nearly all their time to endurance slow-twitch training because you'd never survive a 5 hour ride, let alone have any punch at the line even if you made it if you don't train purposely for it.
