I have baby locs and I got them last August, I’ve only gotten a “proper” retwist twice since then, I can’t do them myself. Every time I wash it, I just make sure to separate the locs so they don’t marry
@teshianicole40284 жыл бұрын
So I think the reason you can get away with retwisting every 2 weeks is because you don’t do tight retwists. That’s the main problem. I prefer to wash every two weeks as well my scalp needs that. I can’t go too long without a retwist. My hair grows away from my locs and I hate it. So I will retwist once a month and then neaten my hair during my 2nd wash of the month. By neaten I mean just wrapping my loose hair at the root around the look for a neat look but not fully retwisting. That works for me ❤️

Sister, I feel you!! My locs are mid-back length and my hair also grows away from my locs. I like your maintenance scheduleule. I may have to try that.

I do the same, but I wash my hair at least once a week. I retwist once a month, but separate and wrap loose hair around my locs after each wash.
@czarinaczar4 жыл бұрын
I used to wash my long locs once a week and retwist every 1.5 months. Now I wash once every 2 weeks and try to retwist every 1-2months. I have loose hair some places, and I only pull them in when I retwist.

Mystiquegale I’ve done braids as well when I don’t feel like doing much else 😩 but I agree. I like the frizzy look at times. Really depends on what I have going on as far as events and activities.

My parts look just like yours but I wish I could get them like that by just feeling through my head. I literally have to sit down and put a mirror in front of me and one in back at a angle to see the back of my head. It definitely helps me maintain a good retwist but my eyes be feeling so strained by the time I’m finished lol.

Wow thanks for this. I just started my loc journey and was wondering if retwisting every two weeks was excessive. I get a lot of frizz but I need to wash my hair every 1.5 to 2 weeks. Much love from the Caribbean🇩🇲

Love the video! I also retwist every two weeks. If I dare wash my hair and not retwist I’m in for an absolute nightmare. Ultimately I do what’s best for MY hair I don’t subscribe to a lot of the “loc rules” and I think that’s why I enjoy my locs so much. Keep it up sis.❤️❤️❤️

The lion loc retwist gel is $22 for an 8zo bottle 👀 and the oil like $17 but I wanna try this. I’ve been using Taliah Waajid since I started my locs 7 going on 8 years now and I’ve notice a difference When it comes to that product I’ve never had product buildup and no I do not use a lot of the product when I retwist. And also no I do not have product buildup but I have been noticing a white film after I do my retwist. This product you mentioned it’s pretty freaking expensive but I want to try it out since it has such great reviews as well as the oil.

I applaud you. You got amazing skills. I don't know how you pull this off. I've tried to maintain my locs myself but the parts are never this neat and the twist itself it's just lose. I got my locs December 4, 2019 and I get my locs maintenance once a month. I get them interlocked. The whole process has been awesome. I love the once a month maintenance because it allows my hair to be free. I personally dont care about super neatness either. I loved you and your videos Keisha. I am seriously considering try out some of your hair products as well. Peace and bleassing.

Triggering Trina be cautious about interlocking once a month. That is very frequent for interlocking and can cause thinning at the roots.

@@KeishaCharmaine Oh definitely. The great thing about my stylist is she has been doing my hair for 5 years and she never does anything tight. She always leaves room at the root, its never tight, and she never pulls. That's what I love about her.

Thanks for the luv! I have learned a lot from watching your videos. I even apply the technique you talk about in regards to holding moisture in you hair, to my skin in general. I'm probably one of the few moms yelling in the bathroom at her kids for letting the steam out of the bathroom in the mornings while she showers because "I can't lock the moisture in with the oil if there's no steam in here! No one cares if their mother doesn't have moist skin!" Needless to say I get comments from my teen for using the word moist...
