Keith Dorton Automotive Specialists & Line Boring Roundtable (Expo 2024 - Episode 21)

Our third episode from day 2 of Expo 2024 kicks off a series of segments on R07 engines.
The segment begins at Automotive Specialists Racing Engines in Concord, NC where Keith and Jeff Dorton are joined by Mahle’s Dan Begle, Rottler’s Ed Keibler, and CWT Industries’ Randy Neal to talk about why getting the bore geometry (straight and round!) is so important and often very difficult.
After discussing what they consider to be the best data points to measure for proper geometry (and Keith sharing a few stories on how he used to figure it out), the guys jump back in studio for a roundtable discussion.
There they talk about the tools and measurements they find critical to get the perfect bore geometry that not only squeezes extra horsepower out of the engine, but ensures that it’ll make more than one run while doing it.
