Keith Emerson is usually considered one of the kings of progressive rock--and that is not always meant as a compliment--but what comes across in this video, especially in the first two songs, is what a great jazz keyboardist he is. Comparisons with Rick Wakeman are inevitable--they both have their strong points--but I'd give Keith Emerson the edge when it comes to harmonic inventiveness. This video highlights that well. Great to see he's still out there burning up the keyboard. Rock on, Keith!

Keith Emerson is an amazing musician, he could bang spoons together an make awesome music. Acoustic piano simulations are a matter of taste. Even natural pianos are subjective. Some musicians prefer the Bosendorfer over the Steinway, or the Yamaha Conservatory grands over the Fazioli, or the Bechstein grand over all of them. It's simply a matter of taste and musical genre. Great musical talent transcends the instrument. Thanks for such a great video.

keith is a legend: but did you noticed he has problems with right hands, actually he plays with 3 fingers only, and is still great!

in english, his right hand, the solo hand is DEAD, from years of playing, but if you guys notice, he now plays bass with his right hand and his solos with his left hand, and his keyboards are BACKWARDS. he is god

Oh man why didn't he play the best part of "From the Beginning". The synthesizer part near the end. He has all the goods at his fingertips.

@escomments i would disagree. when rudess wants to he can play with amazing levels of emotion and feeling. and he plays faster than anyone else. i wouldn't say emerson is better than rudess (i wouldn't say anyone is better than him). but thats just my opinion. hopefully i don't receive massive amounts of hate for simply voicing my opinion

Its too bad guys like Wallysaurex are too stupid to realize that you should not judge the sound of some thing based on one of these vids.

@WallysaurRex Maybe in comparison to a real piano, but as far as digital keyboards go, I see no real problems with it; I think it is fairly authentic sounding... That's just opinion, though.

@WallysaurRex Yes genius, Keith loves playing boards that sound like this. I can only imagine that yours sounds much better lol.
