I've played bass since the age of 7 but I'm just a meat and potatoes player with a little bit of flair. You are unbelievable! You make Wooten sound laid back!

Keith Horne doing what you do... Yeah, but you are doing it better than 99% out there. You will never admit it but as other bass players that I know have said, you are “Elite.”

This is Keith, actually I'm a totally right handed person, only play bass, guitar and steel guitar left handed! If you happen to read any articles about me, I used to play guitar strung for a left handed player at age 6, but after learning to play bass upside down on a friend's bass at age 12, I switched to guitar upside down too! All my basses are custom made left handed bodies but strung upside down, yes as the same way as one of my favorite players in the world, Jimmy Haslip! Peace!

Thank you all for your kind comments! I know a lot of people ask why I play upside down and is there advantages? Well no I can't say there's any real advantages, thumbing and plucking it's kind of a double motion that your right handers do, met a lot of upside down players lately and so many techniques, makes it all interesting and everyone has their own thing! I did learn to play on a right handed bass, drummer at the time our bassist left his bass at my house as a kid, so learned it that way!

Keith, you played that very riff on my Rickenbacker bass upside down and backwards back in the 90's when you were on the road with Trisha Yearwood. We were just a little ho-dunk band in a bar in Camas Washington she was suppose to show up after the show in Portland.. She didn't but you made up for it! I'll never forget your talent! Ive tried all my life to play as effortless as you and will never meet your gift on the bass! UP SIDE DOWN AND backwards!

It was secrets. Carter Beauford was their drummer and went on to play with Dave Matthews. Early on they had a sax player that went on to Spirogyra. They were all very talented.

Totally awesome Keith, great ideas seamlessly played. I am a left handed guy that actually learned how to play on a right handed guitar. I saw a comment that you posted on a Video with Doug Seven smokin the steel. In that comment you said you are now in Va. If that is the case I would love to come hear you play and maybe learn more than a few things! Killer version of humming bird you posted by the way! totally messed with my head and my senses to follow you visually on the upside down Tele!

Dmitry Baturov even if it did he would refuse it. I am a distant cousin of Keith’s (we both know it) and he will tell you he is average at best. He would never admit that he is one of the best ever on Bass, and not too shabby on the Steel or any other guitar for that matter.

@Ra1nemaker May not be an advantage to stringing a left hand bass upside down, but that's how Keith learned to play. My cousin, Rod Riley (check him out on myspace and here on youtube), and Keith Horne grew up together in Chester,Va. From what I've been told, Keith just grabbed a right handed guitar, flipped it over and started learning. Very unique way of playing, can't imagine playing that way.

@OnslowHughes From my experience, I have found that those who criticize great musicians and use the ol' BS cliches like "they have no groove", or they do not have soul like (plug in your own player), are wanna be musicians.. I see this time and time again.. I give younger players advice all the time and tell them do you want to be a star or a working musician. There is a HUGE difference. Stars are NOT virtuoso players. They're couped up in the studio for months to do something we can do in a day
