This man brushes my soul, like no other musician. I had the fortune to see him live in the early nineties and to this day his music is the closest to going Home. Thank you , Mr. Jarrett.

As a 60 year old professional musician, I am just learning about the connection between ourselves and frequency. Now , goosebumps and how I resonate with people like Jarrett when he plays. All connected to the soul as far as I believe. Fascinating.

Oh my! This is just too beautiful. Can’t get enough of this artist, even after 40 years.

What a treasure. I bought the laser disc(!) of this years ago, and this was the first track on it, and it has stuck with me since. A sublime moment, in a career littered with them.

Thank God for Keith and the song writer-and jazz musicians, because they know about divine songs like this that other genre musicians don’t.

Came here after hearing just now about Mr. Jarrett's two strokes. Hoping against hope for a recovery. This opening from his 1987 concert in Tokyo is just breathtakingly beautiful.

Superb, just beautiful and what a great and tender song from Matt Dennis and Tom Adair. Probably at the end of one of the greatest times of the American Song Book.

To me, as a pianist, Keith is the Mozart of our time! His music is sublime, transformational, and never repetitive! His compositions, both classical and jazz are unique and unpredictable. When Keith is in an introspective place, his playing is unsurpassed in its ability to move an open mind and spirit! I sooo miss the trio!

What happened to the trio? Did they separate?
@rmac10426 жыл бұрын
The trio broke up in 2014 because, partially, Gary has an ailment, I have heard, that affected his ability to discern intonation properly. Gary IS, of course, 83 years old, so he may have primarily reached a point where he is too tired to endure the rigors of touring any longer. Now, I am concerned about Keith. He has canceled all his future concerts, including one at Carnegie Hall, through the end of the year. I fear that Keith may have suffered a recurrence of chronic fatigue syndrome. The remarkable 30 years that this trio made music has regrettably ended. Thankfully, we have a plethora of videos and recordings documenting the gifts of three remarkable musicians. We will go through the coming years with

Musicians, if Keith was accompanying a singer on this classic, would his approach have been very different? Would this overwhelm a singer? Thanks. Love this song.

all of your comments are literally choking me up! ( to find so many folks who get this music on truly spiritual level)A friend loaned me this VCR disc in the 80's. The whole concert is phenomenal...and this track is nothing short of other worldly

Like I say later. Just wish I could find "Lalene" in this country (Australia) Have to buy the "Facing You" CD, again. My uncle told me the album was as lib. I was 14 & worked out "Lalene" for myself - 1972. Mistress Bex

Believe it or not, I don't think it's been released on audio CD or streaming. It was a concert that was first released on Laser Disc and VHS tape - could well be wrong

I remember this piece as a paradigm of the incredible amount of resources he has. I can't believe this music. We are very lucky to have experienced this man. There's full sound, swing, melody making. I'm sure anyone considers this one of his top recorded nights. It might be one of the few where he played pure standards solo.

I can’t stand his theatrics. But I like the sound.

No solo es la canción, sino todos los matices que la genialidad de Keith Jarrett extrae de una melodía, un derroche de creatividad.
