I met Keef's gardener in Shaw Park, Jamaca, some years ago. A lovely gentle giant of a man who explained some botanical stuff to my wife. He was wearing an old "Keith Richards and the Expensive Winos" cap. It was dark red and very well used - but I just had to offer to buy it. I offered 'a lot' but full respect -- he said, " Sir, Mr Keith gave this hat to me; I could never sell it no matter the dollars offered." I've never forgotten him and just hope Keith still employs him: he is a loyal, respectful, knowledgeable, true gentleman🧢 - just like Mr. Keith 🎸

Best interview of Keith I've seen/heard. Gosh, now he's talking Jamaica. I've got serious brain injury. Keith was flown to the same hospital as I was, but ,I has a missionary from the world's last colonial private prison island, and Keith had mates with cash. So, 7 years later, God it's good to see how well someone can be when they are looked after and loved, instead of hated by a missionary jailor man who has a medal from the Queen, who asked Keith to sing for her, TWICE!!!

IMO a band doesn't have to have robotic musicians to be tight setting improv aside to sound tight, it doesn't work that way. You have to be loose to be tight otherwise you're not tight you are stiff and the sound will reflect it If you want to play tight, you can't get there unless you are loose. I think only very few musicians understand that concept "play loose to be tight". So glad Keef brought that point up.
