if you think of Keith and only think of drinking and dope , boring cliches about his longevity, or that he's some burn out , you are missing the bigger picture. This is a bright, well rounded fella with a vast knowledge of music and history . He's a true music lover and always has something interesting to say if you just listen to him and put all the stereotypes aside

The entire Trinity for me playing guitar, Keef, his chords, and his swagger. If you can nail or come close to all 3, you can have a life as a weekend musician. I started in the club's in the early 80s, and with only a few breaks between bands I'm still doing it 30 years later. No, I didn't get nationwide famous, but what I did achieve was local/regional famous, and all my gear was purchased through the extra $ I saved on my bar tabs with my "gig money."

@Monsieur Tarzan What's an album got to do with anything? That means very little. Their catalog is huge and they still tour the worlUd regularly and sell out stadiums everywhere they go. They are in a League of their own, even without the incomparable Mr Charlie Watt's❤️ passing. #nrvpunks 🏴‍☠️
@punkswithpeacesigns
@punkswithpeacesigns 2 жыл бұрын
@Monsieur Tarzan Have you ever seen The Stones? Did you see them on tour last year? If you had then you would have the answer to your own question. It would not matter in the least if The Stones came out with an album next month right before the Europe tour is set to start. These days there is an average of 19 songs played at a show. When they are playing huge stadiums the average concert goer is not interested in hearing new songs, they want the war horses, the hits. That's just the way it is and at this point we are lucky to have them be playing anything especially after Charlie's passing. And I have to say this I've seen The Stones 59 times since 1981 and sad as it was not having Charlie there banging away, the two shows that I attended had some of the most spirited playing I had seen in many years. Why worry about new songs when there's so many from their past that has never been played or rarely. Would it make a difference if they they had a new song, because that would be about it as for new songs.
@punkswithpeacesigns
@punkswithpeacesigns 2 жыл бұрын
@Monsieur Tarzan I meant to finish it up but by saying, that you would only get maybe one new song anyway which in fact that is exactly what happened. You do know that they justreleased the 40th anniversary of Tattoo You with extended tracks. So in retrospect we did get new songs that had never been performed before, Troubles A-Coming and Living In A Ghost Town. So I'm not really sure what you're talking about. #nrvpunks🏴‍☠️

Ah, this guy! At various times in this interview, his hair has this wonderful blue halo light! Keep On Keith! Hey - I started reading "Keith Richards - Life" and was so enthralled and happy to hear his own - incredibly coherent and honestly but colorfully descriptive - of events! (Thanks, KR). Well - this guy was able to live a life we'd ALL envy. And somehow he has the genes - or life attitude - to survive it and have so much more presence and intelligent introspection (not to mention comic asides and insights!) than many ever gave him credit for. But hey, if they'd really looked at the songs, the lyrics and sounds... It has always been there, and whoopee, it still is! He keeps going, following interest and not backing off.

If you could distill the spirit of rock and roll down into just two guitar slingers, these would be those. (p.s. get well soon Mr J...there are still many stages to conquer!)

OMG! I remember being in Studio 914 the day after Elvis died with my brother, where the title track to the 'Born To Run' album was recorded. He talked to Keith Richards on the phone shortly before last Christmas. He died about three weeks before this was posted. Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Van Zandt used to play one of the his records over their sound system before they went on stage (late 70s'). The name of the album was 'Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye'.

I saw some Interviews with Keith. I think Keith is very charming and cool but most Interviewers try to be so cool infront of him and they look very funny infront of him. Keith you handle it well

What ever you think you know about Keith, is the Keith you don't know very well. He's a legend that's shared the same stage with legends that came before and after his story and he knows more history of their story as if this were his own story in life, he's an encyclopedia of the history of rock and roll, and all that made it what it is, something to be remembered & Keith has lived those memories with so many of the legends. Yes he has more that 2 brain cell left to play with. The Keith you think you know, never would have survived the 70s and he's still alive. The road will make an old man out of anyone. And I'm sure he's got more miles left to go. Keith hasn't seen the last curtian call yet.

Still playing the guitar with osteoarthritis, plus his age, shows what a tuff guy he really is. I have it in three fingers. It is extremely painful. Just goes to prove that old rockers never die.
