Nah, not lazy. He’s human. Probably nervous-I believe this was also the very first induction ever, plus, that’s his idol. And Keith Richards is not exactly the most eloquent man anyway-he’s a player, not a singer. Seemed like a good portrayal of Richards.

I think one element that made the Stones so great is that they’re very social people, they didn’t just admire their idols, they met them and mingled with them and they have each met probably thousands of people by now, and that to me is what makes a great band, no other bands do that, no other bands live the way the Stones do, no other band has had the fun that the Stones have had, no other band have made music as good as they have. The Stones were part of the golden age of music. And i really hope some day that we’ll have top quality rock bands again instead of just some showboaters. Learn your craft sincerely instead of being some poser, and you have to write fun songs...nobody wants miserable music, you can write an occasional sad song, hey the Stones did it, but it should be mostly fun and about enjoying life.

Absolutely - the Stones never, ever try to deny (as Richards even says here) they based their entire set on the great, great black musicians of the US. I myself regularly say we are so, so indebted to those black musicians as the rawness, the feel and the brilliance of their music cannot be replicated. We love trying in the UK and have made some great bands at attempts at it, but again like Richards we all know deep down there will never be true copies of those marvellous talents from the US.

I got to watch the show from the left of backstage -I was dumbstruck I had no idea that it was The first rock and roll hall of fame show until it was mentioned a bit later. The closing jam was my favorite part -the speeches were cool because of the famous individuals making them but I definitely preferred the musical performance parts.

@cooldaddy2877 3 жыл бұрын
@@shoebbismillah4194 sorry but you are so wrong. I was a teenager at the time and know what an impact both men made. Elvis was much more original than Chuck. Elvis set the standard for a four piece R'n'R band....no doubt about that. Elvis packaging it? really? Elvis was not packaged in any way, he was a true original rebel without any forerunners. Elvis popularised it? yes, because he was so good, so dynamic and so original. Elvis popularised it BEFORE the general public even knew what he looked like. Most thought he was black. So, forget all the rubbish that he made it because he was white and handsome...it does not compute with the actual evidence. If Chuck was the heart of R'n'R, why did he have so few hits in the fifties? Why were his few hits not number ones for weeks at a time. Dont say it was because he was black because Fats Domino, Little Richard, The Platters, The Coasters etc etc were black and had more hits than Chuck did in the fifties. Elvis was the King of R'n'R then and always will be and his fellow singers and musicians also said that (Chuck, Little Richard, Bill Haley, Gene Vincent and others). But those artists are wrong according to revisionists. Revisionists like you are so off the ball its embarrassing.

@@shoebbismillah4194 oh dear. Do you understand the word CHRONOLOGY? Can you explain how it is humanly possible for Elvis, who started recording in 1954 to have heard and been influenced by Chuck Berry who didnt start recording till a year or more later? Please please explain that one? Same goes for Bo Diddley. Yes, Elvis did listen to Fats Dominos R'n'B recordings.Please supply evidence for your chronologically wrong statement.

1986 was the first year of the RNRHOF and I believe Chuck Berry was the first inductee that year.

“I lifted every lick from him”. That’s exactly right. Keith Richards stole every lick from Mr. Berry. The Rolling Stones owe everything to someone else.
