priceless indeed... loving it more with each watching. i've seen jimmy on GREAT nights and on not-so-great nights and never left disappointed in any way. the presence tour is still my favourite guitar night ever. wish they'd filmed more of that. he's my favourite of the "triad." unlike eric and jeff, he really hung onto his blues-punk roots and of the three, of almost anyone playing actually, his versatility and song-writing are unmatched. and paul rodger's totally belts this baby.

Funny... watched the video three times. Big Page fan but this is pretty sloppy stuff. Suddenly realized I was actually at this show! Gawd I was drunk! The Page ovation when he walked out was like a 747 taking off in the living room. Great fun. It really doesn't matter who's "better." The building swayed with magic from start to finish.

OK, perhaps his not best show, but let us put things in to perspective of this time period. 1. John Bonham's passing. 2. LED ZEPPELIN BREAKS UP. 3. Jimmy at this point is battling a heavy drug addiction. 4. Page is playing a BLONDE/ BOTS WANNA BROWN TELECASTER WITH A PARSON'S/WHITE B-BENDER, which in itself is very unusual, but still kicks ass. 5. Page is playing with Paul Rodger's of Bad Company, in support of RONNIE LANE AGAINST Multiple Sclerosis. Bottom line = PRICELESS

That I can understand totally .I liked some of the jazz stuff Beck has done but I was sure ready for him to get back to playing heavy rock music . When Beck isnt too caught up in all the wierd volume swells and his well known whammy bar obsession ,he can be pretty fantastic. But Jimmy Page is the player I d rather hear than anyone else . Page likes those rude ,obnoxious flanged out tones that are reaaly thick and weighty . Thats what I like to hear

hasekdom He had just come off a 7 year Heroin Addiction. he clearly lost a lot of skill. Lets see how well you could play with 7 years of heroin in your system. Also, you can clearly tell he was trying his best and the audience weren't booing, they were cheering.

@zabbott51 Jimmy Page is amazing but when you bring Jeff Beck into the discussion you are at a different level - Beck is the only guitarist Jimi Hendrix sought out in England for advice about the guitar. "Clapton is God" ...he is not my god. Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck grew up in the same neighborhood in England...that must have been some fuckin neighborhood!!!!!!!
@henryraymond86766 жыл бұрын
This band was interesting because of the quality of the players obviously. I heard them and they were definitely good. But like in h this video it was kind of strange. Jimmy played these quite intricate guitar licks and Rodgers singing his bluesy style it just didn't seem to fit together really. Don't get me wrong they were great players individually etc., but like a winning team it somehow was like they were competing for attention in the music rather than integrating into one "SOUND." I know that's abstract however with Phillips being somewhat jazzy, and Jimmy as well, there never seemed to be that hard driving beat and rhythm that existed either in Led or Bad Co. Maybe I was just used to that and sort of anticipated it, who knows, but it was like a team of All Stars that didn't really play together. Their musicianship was excellent indeed. I guess I just expected something else.

@johntg123 Jimmy Page was Amasing,his 1973 performance of "Since I been loving You" without the Overdubs is Timeless. Jeff Beck is just the Guitar players Guitar player. You can take Your Shredders, your guitar perfectionists and your Fingertappers put them all in one and Jeff will turn heads where ever He Goes at 68yrs of age,Jimmy and Eric, Will have a hard time keeping up with Jeff. Are we Done. Or would you like to watch Jeff and give me your Critic one more time. Opinions are like Assholes
