Cool video, I learn a little more each time I watch you set the timing on a steam engine!

Hello, I am building the exact same engine and I had questions about the timing and I found that my timing was exactly the same as what you had. Seems that the more I run it the better and smoother it gets,(it runs smooth as glass). I was just not sure I was timing it correctly but now I know it’s right. So to answer your question, yes I found it very useful. Thank you 😬👍. Eddie wheels 😬🧑🏻🦽🇺🇸 from NJ.

I have built 2 of the PM Research engines. I made studs and square head nuts.It takes time but, I am not trying to make production.

wrong bolt in wrong place been there done that/ do you find much difference between air pressure and steam?
@keithappleton2 жыл бұрын
Yes Steam & Compressed air are very different.

@@keithappleton on both of them running in an engine once you tune with air do you have to tweak it a little when running on steam(wish I would word my question right in the first place sorry)

Keith I'm a relatively experienced engineer. looking at getting some home equipment to keep me busy. As I have more time than I would like on my hands at the moment. I spent much time on a south bend 13 x30. What size do you tend to spend most your time on when working on your models As I know you own multiple machines?

Usually my Boxford Lathe as it is the one nearest to where I keep most of my tooling.

This engine runs so fast you could put a propeller in place of the flywheel and I bet it would take off on it's own.
