Hi Keith, thanks a lot for this awesome series! I watched videos 1 through 6 in a row. To fully understand what is going on in this video, knowledge about RIP, OSPF and EIGRP is kind of a prerequisite. It would be awesome if you could make another video (or even another series) about the basics of dynamic routing protocols and include a link to that at the beginning of this video. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work :)

Hi Subhoraj- I am just finishing an IPv6 series with CBT Nuggets, which included a module on ISIS. I didn't create a short KZbin video for ISIS. The primary IGP routing protocol being used for IPv6 is OSPF. ISIS is used in many service provider networks as their IGP. Thanks for the comments, Keith

so after setting up ipv6 eigrp, you would then need to set up (with the netowork statments) ipv4 networks and issue a "no router id 1.1.1.1) since there will be ipv4 addresses on there? also, the ipv6 can then communicate with with ipv4 address?

Hi Keith, I'm a big fan and love your videos, I'm hoping you could explain somthing for me. with regards to ipv6 if ospf and eigrp both have the same administrative distance with ipv6 how does the router choose which route to put in the routing table is it the most specific one ?

"You can change the administrative distances for routes discovered by or redistributed into a routing protocol. If two routes from two different routing protocols have the same administrative distance, then the route with the lower default administrative distance is entered into the routing table. In the case of EIGRP and OSPF routes, if the EIGRP route and the OSPF route have the same administrative distance, then the EIGRP route is chosen by default."

Hey Keith. There is something i want to ask, how to connect between vlan? Example : I have interface fa0/0.10 and interface fa0/0.20. Both interfaces have ipv6 address, but clients on vlan interface fa0/0.20 cannot connect/ping to client on vlan interface fa0/0.20. is there any ways to solve it?

Hmm, why can't the router automatically pick a router ID for IPv6 routing with OSPF? Or is that just a feature that would not be very high on Cisco's priority list?
