Warm greetings from Australia 🦘 Keith and John. Same problem in Australia. No sense of community in our local Catholic churches. RCIA only works for adults converting to the Catholic faith. There are LOTS of adults, despite being cradle Catholics, who may have left the Church and returned after many years, like myself who need a refresher. There are no formal "education" programs within the Catholic Church to reintegrate that lapsed Catholic. The people flying the flag of evangelization are ex-other!!!! Ex Protestants in most cases. The Catholic Church has a mindset of, "build it and they will come". There is a terrible lack of community and communal learning and sharing. Thank God for KZbin - it saved me!! ❤😊

Thank you so much for doing this interview. When he quoted his father saying “son, I love you” I cried. Because, it was the same thing my father in law said to me just 8 months ago and I admitted to him that I had a severe drinking problem. I documented in my journal. 2 days later I checked myself into rehab and have not had a sip of alcohol since. I have been working on rebuilding my faith since. I have been searching for something just like this in my parish. I am going to pray on this…will you please join me. I will probably be reaching out to John but like John said….im scared For some reason. Jonathan

Wow. What a great yalk to listen to as i drove across the country from Florida to Minnesota this last Friday. Keith, what a great first interview. Nice job. Mr. John, we need to talk. What a great change of heart, Metanoia, your mind blown by the change brought into your heart. I am so glad that you are on a healthy, faithful, beautiful track with Christ now. John, your wife. I would love to hear from her somehow. Bless her heart to stand for righteousness and truth as she denied you an easy path way back into her heart. She is a good women. She has allowed you to be a good man, after denying that for yourself for sooooo long in destruction of your Life, you were somehow resurrected through the Grace of God. Prayers brother. I would kove to see if we can get you up to MN. Funny thing, i was traveling to our overnight stay in Memphis, TN as I heard you comment on where you were from. Had you not already been in Iowa with Keith i would have found you for dinner that night. What a powerful talk. Continue your quest to strengthen men.

Congratulations on your first in person interview, Keith! John was a great guest and is so empowered by the Holy Spirit. This was a good choice..🙏 I am surprised by the lack of men at your churches in the US. I do not find this prevalent in Canada where I live. There are even several in the choirs and young ones among them. Will keep you both in my prayers.

I’m just now seeing this amazing interview!!!Incredible testimony and extraordinary mission from the Lord!! It’s THE most needed ministry in the Church!! As a 70 something single woman, I also find this incredibly necessary for women to know other faithful women too! Can this program be adapted for them? The Catholic Church “shouldn’t be” the loneliest place on earth!!! But that has been my personal experience throughout my adult life! Things were fine through grade school until 8th grade as your guest described! After that…. Nothing!! I used to go to a Baptist church service “ before” Mass, to have some semblance of community!! It was all I could figure out to do to somewhat meet the need for fellowship! IF I HAD ANY type of calling, this would have been IT!! Your guest is much more gifted socially than I, but is there a WAY to maybe help make this happen for women too?? Thank you Keith, for your incredible channel!!! You’re absolutely perfect for what you do!! Our God is so smart in choosing the EXACT and unique individuals to shine His light of Hope to all of us!!! We have so desperately needed converts, like you, to help us struggling but faithful cradle Catholics!!!

Great discussion! And thanks for both of your work in the church. Reinforcing the role of men in the church and the family and giving men opportunities is definitely helpful. Although there is not much that laypeople can do about this directly, having a serious and reverent Liturgy also helps draw and keep men.

Here is the funny thing. I was involved in RCIA for many years. There are converts who finally came to the Catholic Church precisely because when they came to Mass for the first time they were left alone. They complain that in so many Protestant churches, they walked in and they were barraged by “friendliness“ and they were very put off. They walked into the Catholic Church and everyone was focused on worshiping God. One thing I would stress to men is that the father IS the spiritual head of the family. If they do not take up that role, their wife CANNOT fill in that role. What the family ends up with is a family with a bad or no spiritual head. The families where the father takes his role as spiritual head seriously, the children RARELY stray from the faith even when they go off to college.

Hot Take: I think the devotions to the Blessed Mother have gotten a bit excessive. She’s very important but I see a lot of men viewing the Church as a matriarchy and the women do everything. Go ahead and throw stones. This is my opinion from what I see and I’m not questioning any dogma or doctrine. I simply don’t see devotions to Mary very inspiring to men and masculinity.
@davido30267 ай бұрын
Your personal opinion is irrelevant, for starters Psalm 45! The Virgin is sitting to the right of the King in heaven, noble men ask her favor for brung there, and the King exalts her for all generations!!! Blessed virgin, our mother

Great interview, so becoming a Catholic has made him a better man and not the work of the living God? This interview sounds like a Babtist teaching a Catholic about his christianity and then turning to catholicism? Confusing. But the confession of sins to man and not God is STILL in the Catholic doctrine, why not confess to the maker? The one who forgives you of your sins? The pope is supporting sins against God (LGBTQ). Do the vast majority of Catholics support this? Let’s not forget the many young boys molested by priests possibly caused because of the manmade doctrine that priests should not marry? It’s not biblical. Just questioning.
@LoudandClearChastity7 ай бұрын
I think you have a poor understanding of Catholicism. Confession is a Catholic sacrament. Jesus works through the Catholic priest to forgive sins and restore the relationship between the sinner and Jesus Christ. But you knew that, didn't you??
@darkdesertgoose21127 ай бұрын
Man is always turning his back on the truth to justify his own ways. Search for the truth. Open your eyes to God. Jesus is still the truth and the way. If it’s hard to live your religion on a daily basis, it’s probably because you have let God take the back seat and let your church take the lead. Being a true believer in Jesus Christ is easy, living this life is the hard part if we don’t have Jesus. We have another life that awaits us. Following Jesus is exactly what it says ‘following’.
@darkdesertgoose21127 ай бұрын
skaz777, it sure seems you are waiting for man to help you with all of your problems instead of Your God. Where would you be as an individual if there was no Catholic Church? A personal one on one relationship with God can more than handle anything. Relying on your church to solve your problems doesn’t do your salvation any good. It’s as though someone or something else is making your very important life decisions. You only need God. And God first.
