More than that. He offered the kid a chance to go on stage. Kid had felonies and was hiding from police. Matisyahu helped with legal issues, vouched for him with the judge that the kid would not be a flight risk. Brought him on stage for this performance. He is trying to mentor and change his life. Respect.

I wish there was a way I could tell kekoa and Matisyahu that this song saved my life. Four kids and a marriage dissolving, suicidal, ready to go. I grabbed my uke and learned how to play this song on the coffee shop video. It pulled me out and gave me the positive energy and focus to come out of it. So on behalf of my children. Thank you so much for just being wonderful human beings. Many blessings. Sincerely, Ethan.

ive been listening to him since i was born (2002) and i met him in 2012 when he came to my town for a concert, and i was devastated cause all the tickets sold out. i lived a few minutes away from were the concert would be so i went with my mom to see if we could find someone trying to sell tickets. we saw his bus and thought why not and knocked on the door. apparently he had just woken up from a nap and i saw him and cried at seeing the person ive wanted to meet my whole life. he gave us an autograph and guest passes so we can see the show VIP. and he dedicated Jerusalem to me as it has been my favorite song ever since ive listened to him and still is to this day. THANK YOU MATISYAHU. FOREVER HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. SHALOM!

Y Brady damn cool story to cherish! I missed seeing Interpol my first time in 2003- I showed up trying to scalp tickets off someone at $100+ a piece (for like $25 tickets) but no one would give them up and I was sooooo bummed out about it. I didn’t find out about the show ‘till the day of either. I was 13 at the time. I still haven’t gotten the chance to see them- I was gonna go in Sept of last year to a neighbor state to see them live but between two tickets and parking, it was close to $400 already + the cost of gas and hotel/food/etc. So I figured not. … maybe I should’ve knocked on their tour bus door though. Another quick story- I was 15 and my buddy and I were going to see Blessthefall live (for the third time already) when we were driving close by the venue and almost ran over the original lead singer - stopped prolly two inches from his hips with the bumper and we both freaked out apologizing- longer story short, he wound up coming with us to a nearby house party afterwards and drinking the night away and doing vocals for us all. Funnest shit ever.

Matisyahu performed at 2011 Shangri~La Festival in southern MN and at the end of this song I started to notice quite a few fans were getiing up an dancing on the stage. After a minute I realized it was Matis himself helping his fans climb onto the stage. The song ended with an entire stage full of people from the crowd singing and dancing. Awesome memories!

I was at a festival and they had these "after shows" that costed a lot extra. One of the shows was Matisyahu. Me and a group of people (probably about 10 of us, all strangers) were just kind of hanging around the venue trying to figure out if we could somehow get in. A guy comes out of nowhere and is like, "y'all trying to see the show?". He said "Line up right here and I'll be right back." So of course we did but we started thinking he wasn't coming back. A cop started hassling us and trying to get us to leave. The guy came back just in the nick of time and convinced the cop that we were with him. Then he took us all around to the back entrance of the club! We walked in the door with Matisyahu! Great guys:)

He may have a questionable past but here's hoping that he'll find value in this experience and realize he can be a better person and do good things if he is conscious to his life, actions, and potential importance. Sometimes the greatest success stories are from the least likeliest of people who overcome their issues and can then go on to help others avoid doing the same. Those who don't know... look at Matis's own past... he wasn't always the best of kids.
