Said Lord raise me up from the ground, yeah I've been here too long I said Lord raise me up from the ground I've been here too long I said Lord raise me up from the ground, yeah I've been here too long I said Lord won't you raise me up from the ground? Yo, oh yeah, oh Said I been gone for so long, where my mind been at? Won't you please wake me up, won't you please bring me back? Daydream fantasy and my mind went to sleep Eyes closed up from you with my heart heavy Won't you please wake me up and shake me up and take me up? Said Babylon will make me shock wave, yes I had enough So open up and lift the gates, redemption coming like a run away truck Op! Diggy do-do-do You make my heart want to serve You and I'm bound to erupt You lift me up from quick sand in a world gone corrupt No longer stuck up up and away we go, Yerushalayim is my home Said Lord raise me up from the ground I've been here too long I said Lord raise me up from the ground, op Lord raise me up from the ground I've been here too long, yo-oh, yeah Yeah base man, oo-oh! Rhythm say! When it started it'd be etched into my brain elevation The shield that David blazed, into my brain waves And I'm raisin' my soul like a sword in ancient days When protection surrounded me like the sun's rays Started it'd be etched into my brain elevation The shield that David blazed, into my brain waves I'm raisin' my soul like a sword in ancient days When protection surrounded me like the sun's rays Lord raise me up from the ground I've been here too long I said Lord raise me up from the ground I said Lord raise me up from the ground I've been here too long, yeah

I saw Matisyahu in Pcola, Fl. It was an awesome performance in a small venue. Matisyahu's singing was excellent and the bands performance was great! I don't know if it was me. I felt that he was missing something, he acted differently, and he looked different. I wish that he still dressed in his traditional Hasidic Jewish attire. I love to see people take pride in their culture and heritage. I hope that he will go back to his cultural roots.

His year's as a Chabad - Lubavitch Orthodox Hasidic Jew was his best and most vibrant and soulful work, the band was also phenomenal!!!! His Jewish roots where what gave him the ability to fly as high as he did and perform at such a spiritual level for basically 10 years,he would do himself good to return to his chassidic roots.Heard him perform "Jerusalem " recently and it was so flat and his voice had no energy and tell you the truth it seemed that all of the magic is gone!!!!

His voice and energy will return but only if G-d deems it so, my journey is still long and very wretched and I am in no means comparing myself to him. But I have found within Judaism a life I never knew before, and Judaism is completely and totally where his life comes from.

As a conservative Jew (which is what he was prior to becoming a Chasid L'bavich) the transition into Orthodox Judaism does not have to be and sometimes should not be a PERMANENT existence in the lifetime of a Jew- YES he needed to go to that extreme form of Judaism to find himself as a man and as a beautiful musical artist but one can't dictate to another person how long they should live their life in that way. His musical gifts are unquantifiable and yes perhaps after returning to a more conservative form of Judaism his music does not reach in and grab hold of our souls in quite the same way as when he was a Chasid but aren't we being a bit selfish to when critiquing the parallel between how his music touches our hearts and where he is with his own personal journey through life in understanding himself, his existence, his place in the universe and ultimately his relationship with Judaism?

Stephen Greico they wrote this five years ago bruh... either way seems to me like you just feel threatened by your own community to not be the type to want to be into this type of stuff. Your political views don’t matter when it comes to music it’s not about politics or division between groups (like trump would have it, ironically) it’s the exact opposite, that’s the whole point of music.
@stephengreico28104 жыл бұрын
Malaki Jacobs well despite what you think the president doesn’t want division among groups...he’s never said it...not once...libs just wanna believe what they want as if it’s the cool thing to do to hate him I have many diverse ppl in my family in terms of race and orientation and I don’t hate them. And I support the president Guess we’re not all racists etc. And to answer your question I so feel very uncomfortable in public situations like this because of all the liberal bigotry
@eugenef0zzy4 жыл бұрын
Stephen Greico the presidents punchline is to build a WALL to separate us from others. It’s not cool to hate people, that’s not why people don’t like him... seems to me like you have some pretty serious white privilege (unless you’re not white for some reason) to not see the true face of who this man is. racism doesn’t always come in the form of statements, it’s the systematic ignorance that trump himself embodies!! I’m sorry you feel uncomfortable to express you’re thoughts about this stuff, but it seems to me like you don’t have a very good idea of what’s going on in the first place You shouldn’t have to feel threatened because of what you believe, so think about what that really is to you and maybe you wouldn’t feel this conflict??

Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. (Galatians 3:24-25). We need the tutor to show us how much we need a Savior!
@Ant42Lee8 жыл бұрын
Respectfully I say to you, if you read the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament closely I think you'll see that the Torah/"Law" was not just a tutor to show us how broken we are. The fact that God gave the Torah to Israel saying "See, today I have put before you a blessing and a curse" means that one can, if one tries, follow the Torah at least to God's satisfaction - otherwise there would be no "blessing" option included (Deut. 11:26-28). Moses also explicitly tells the Israelites in Deut. 30:11-14 that they are capable of living by the Torah - "[For] this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach..."
@thegoodfight4268 жыл бұрын
Anthony Lee If it were possible for us to fulfill the law in our own strength, there wouldn't have been the need for animal sacrifice. The law came to show us that we were sinful and in need of a redemption, but that through His grace we are able to fulfill the law, but only by His grace through faith. The strength of sin is the law (1Corinthians 15:56). So the former commandment is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the Law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God (Hebrews 7:19). It's God's grace that empowers us to keep the law, not our own self-efforts, that no man shall be able to boast in his own efforts. The Pharisees may have known the law backwards and forwards, but the law was incapable of creating love in their hearts.
@Karina-ki9kc8 жыл бұрын
Faith is blind, G-d doesn't give us a savor because no one can discover G-d for you but you, the discovery of the purpose of creation is this life not in the after life. He sends us guides. The Torah doesn't have any Historical value, it is a verb.
@johnsteinson8 жыл бұрын
That is silly talk. There is no such thing as "fulfilling" the law. That is pure Christian theology invented to prop up their false savior.
@thegoodfight4268 жыл бұрын
I've encountered this savior and know that He is real! I hope that you have the same encounter one day John! You can call me a liar, but I know who I experienced! I also know that you haven't lived perfectly under the law and are in need of grace and forgiveness! Let's face it, none of us can live perfectly under the law, there is only One that is good and that's our Heavenly Father!

@@chegadesuade in all honesty he’s revealed to me recently that his real name is Isa. He was telling me for a few months but I ignored it because I really didn’t know if it was him coming through or someone else. I’d seen that name used a few times before over the past 8 years because I’m part of the spiritually awakened community but never looked into it. I seldom really know who is actually coming through anymore via telepathic communication because I’ve been under psychic attack from lower vibrational entities, aka demons, for over two years now. They’ve traumatized and greatly confused me at times. There are many awakened people who have to endure these attacks because of the times we are living in. It’s spiritual warfare and I’m basically a front line warrior of truth and justice. Anywho, I finally decided to do some research on the name I kept hearing and low and behold I found out that his true name really Isa and it was mistranslated time and again in other language’s. So I’ve been calling him Isa since then.
