The Miami Heat defeated the Sacramento Kings (2), 102-86. Kel’el Ware, the 15th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft out of Indiana, recorded a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat, while Cole Swider added 21 points and 5 3PM in the victory. Jordan Ford tallied 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 3PM for the Kings (2) in the losing effort. The Heat improve to 1-1 in the Summer League California Classic, while the Kings (2) fall to 1-1.

@jayykage187 There really is no short-term great player to get. Unless you think Joker, Giannis, or Luka are available. Hoping for guys like that to want to come to the organization you root for is not a plan. All the guys being rumored are just dudes. None of them are number 1s. We built a championship team through the draft. DWade was our draft pick and the linch pin to all of our success. We've really never free agented ourselves to a title. Nor has anyone else in recent history. It's time we do the same.

But so did every other team they faced in the playoffs. But we had Butler and Rozier out for that series. Lets not act like that wasnt a big deal. If the Heat can stay healthy and the young core improves, I still like our chances.

He hasn't shown the 3pts shooting yet, but 42% from 3 in college on like 42 attempts but still. Unlike other big centers he has a bag and has shown he has a little finesse. He may get beat, but recovers very quickly and has a 7'5 wingspan. 🤷‍♂️ him next to bam will only help him and look like a star

He could, and perhaps even should, be better than Sarr and Clingan, because those guys have not shown the ability to hold Edey to a FG% that is equivalent to someone shooting LESS than 40% on volume threes... whereas Ware HAS shown that ability, against Edey. And so Ware might prove to be considerably more capable of holding up to a Jokic than Sarr and Clingan can, for that matter. Can't see the latter two defending Embid well, either... or, scoring on him.
