I think Alta Motors deserves a lot of credit for making really good electric dirt bikes in a really hostile environment of closed minded people. Even now it’s very difficult. But yeah they really deserved a lot better than what they got.

i dont think its closed minded people. the gasoline. the smell. the sound. vibration. the gears. its part of the experience and love for motorcycles. electric dirt bikes are great and have a place. but its like watching an action movie with the sound turned off.

@@christill i dont think you used that correctly lol. have you ridden a motocross bike before?. if getting rid of 75% of the appeal of a motocross bike is close minded i guess thats me. you should try on land out of water swimming.

@@christill I agree. But also at the time, the cost for the bike was to much for most people to go out and try it. They were 14k back then.

Is it not stark that leads the electric market? Alta may have started the movement, but to my recollection, the Alta had a hard time "running" for more then 20 minutes. They needed to work on the battery, but taht adds more weight and complications. I think electric will be the move going forward (not that I'm a huge fan), but battery's are going to need to last 3-4 hours. No way I'm lugging around a generator just to charge my bike, when gas will give me (depending on how the bike is rode) 6+hours. Sure, 2 stroke 80cc, i had extra gas for trails or full moto days, but just practicing at the track, or putting trails on a 4stroke crf150rb id be fine most of the day

Some negative comments here on the ebikes... other than the maybe annoying whine, do they underperform or something? Seems like these ones are getting shreddy just fine.
