You have to be tough to still be as nice a person as she is after the kind of childhood she's had. Mom leaving her at the age of 2, and dad in and out of jail. I went thru a loveless marriage for 28 years for my 3 sons. I have physical and emotional scars. Last year I finally had enough and adult up. I have gone thru hell. Called rcmp 2 nights ago cause they took a round on me again a week before I take possession of my new home. I have warmed up calves in my kitchen. I have had enough and trying to adult up. This song sticks to my core. And 100% get this song. Beaufort disaster and own it. Right down to my tattoo. I know what hell feels like....and i pray God has me.. not sure how much tough I got left.

Kellie is a star and had delivered 2-3 great albums -- much better than Miranda for sure -- BUT Nashville labels, radio, and retail will not get around her since she would threaten Miranda, plus the overall sexist Nashville political machine ... its very very tough to get a hit for a female singer besides Carrie -- just look how Miranda's has so many failed singles at radio even though she gets so many award thrown her away. Frank Liddell produced Kellie's last couple cds and they are chock full of quality songs -- but radio and politics will not allow Kellie to be a bigger star than she is ... let's see how her new talk show does ... bravo Kellie.

My Dad spent 2 weeks in jail (nothing serious or drug-related) but I will always say he was/is a good father to me...I never went to bed hungry and always had a roof over my head and warm clothes...considering my mom ran out when I was 8, I definitely had to grow up with a few rough edges. I love and yet hate the fact that I can relate to this song.

YES!! Amazing video and song, and it's Biographical. I fell in love with her in 2006 season 5 American Idol, the worst season Ever. Because of Kelly and Daughtry voted off, but kelly has beaten the odds; and in my opinion the most underrated female country artist today. So much so I miss the times when she needed me, when she was hurt, sad or just when she needed a shoulder to cry on. Now She can sure make me cry sometimes.
