So lets assume Jolene was around the same age, she may well have been at the bank when this came out. Hope Dolly still had her account there by this time. Dolly loved the name and made sure to let the little girl know, Dolly talked about how she kept repeating the little girl's name in her head until she got back to the tour bus and that's how the chorus came about.
