Steve here! Appreciate all the comments everyone. I personally haven't played a Sonic game since the Sega Genesis days, so yes it was a bit of a surprise to hear the metal jams at first. Glad to hear that this has been going on for many years with the Sonic series. Also we really appreciate the additonal react suggestions and we will be adding some/all of them to the list. Thanks for dropping in!

Funny how y’all mentioned Dangerkids Tyler’s on this OST as well he’s featured in another one of the boss themes alongside Kellin, “Find your Flame” Tyler previously was on the Sonic Forces OST for “Infinite”. The three songs on this OST WITH Kellin are the first three boss fights the other of the three being the second boss fight “Break Through it All”. I kinda feel like it’s the heaviest song of the three. As for the critique of the songs ending by getting quiet that is probably heavily from the fact that these are all three for Boss fights and the slow down in context is used as the wind down and fade out after a finisher on the boss cutscene that blends into the in between “islands” (major levels) cutscene. So yes they all slow down at the end for in game cutscene mood fade-out type reasons. Other good songs from this OST is vandalize my heart by One OK rock (the game uses a radio edit made for sonic frontiers. That changes the line “Fuck the pain away my bed is in ruins” to “Fight the pain away my head is in ruins”. ) this is used as a credits song on easy and medium difficulty. Though not as heavy as other songs on the OST other collaborations on this soundtrack were The hard mode credits theme is “One way dream” by Nathan Sharp (Natewantstobattle) And the games title song used for the easy and medium mode final boss (and pentultinate boss on hard mode) is I’m Here (Which features Merry Kirk-Holmes of To Octavia.)

Sonic's had this type of music in it's games since 1998 lol. They've had crush 40, zebrahead, AKON, and a few other bands in their OST's and these bands making some of the tracks for the games is one of the reasons why people say Sonic games have the best soundtracks in all of gaming.

Definitely one of my favorite parts of people reacting to Frontiers' boss tracks is the "hold up, this is in a *Sonic game,* what?" that inevitably comes from people who haven't played much 3D Sonic. This game went hard as hell but it really has been this way since Sonic Adventure. There's definitely some other highlights y'all should hear at some point, beyond just Frontiers' offerings- What I'm Made Of is one of my all-time favorites, and the Zebrahead version of His World is insanely good.

Almost everywhere I've seen on KZbin of non sonic fans playing the game/hearing the music they seem to all say the "in a _sonic_ game??" phrase quite often, admittedly it's the heaviest metal it's been before but still only by a small margin when compared to the ost of any Sonic game released since the late 90s. Just wonder how the general perception is so surprised to see the series do same thing it's done for the vast majority of its lifetime

Well you have to understand that the music in this game is a bit different even for Sonic according to many of us fans, so it's DEFINITELY unexpected for people not used to Sonic who only think of the classic games or even maaaaybe what we got in the last 10 years when is akin to Sonic Lost World.

This is what happens when a game is almost as good as the music, not only the music and boss fights are really good, the game mechanics are good and the lore and character development is actually there, which is something Sonic games have been lately ignoring, Frontiers is a new chapter that I hope shows SEGA the potential is there, just do it properly.

Sonic Adventure, a game from 1998, is the game that has popularized the idea of using metal/rock/hard rock songs as themes. The Sonic's saga is still the master at this art, like every fan can say, Sonic's music never disappoint.

This isn't even the only song that Kellin Quinn has done in this game. He did 3 total for each of the first 3 major bosses, and they're all great. While this song is amazing, I personally think that 'Break Through It All' might be my favorite. Btw, Sonic is notorious for having this kind of music since some of his earliest iterations of 3D Sonic games.

I love how all the sonic stereotypes they know about and throw around throughout the video slowly fade away as the video goes on. We hear classic 2010s era points "sonic game bad this" "killing his career" ect. But the moment the music starts even when someone is like "idk about that" to the one guys interest in the game it isn't just....left hanging in the air. You DO fight MULTIPLE bosses to music like this all "sonic = bad" stereotypes you wanna throw at this game just don't stick quite like they do to past games. The series is SO much more than people give it credit for and now people are finally seeing it

I've supported this game ever since it was first revealed the next sonic game was in development and then the 4chan leak got out and ever since I fought for this game to be THE ONE! It'll be good, itll be as good or better than SA1/2 and LOW AND FUCKIN be-HOLD! here we are. I deserve to be fucking banging to this music, even after supporting it through the best underdog story this game had after the first gameplay people shat on it and even before just hearing its gonna be all new stuff and open world, new story writer and everything. So glad to actually witness everything about this game since the last impactful ones were SA2 and I wasnt even born yet till 2002 when that shit dropped, now here I am 20 and witnessed the dopest fuckin come back for sonic.

You guys should check out the other two songs Kellin Quinn did for the next two boss fights, ‘Break Through It All’, and ‘Find Your Flame’. I’ve heard the former being compared to the kind of songs from Devil May Cry (Sonic ends up tossing that boss, a giant mechanical serpentine DRAGON, into a mountain to finish it off after chasing after it all throughout the island they’re on, while it flys away from him in fear) and the latter from the songs from Metal Gear Rising (fitting, considering in that boss fight Sonic ends up finishing the boss off by stealing the giant boss’s own big ass sword to slice him in half with). Most of the boss fights (except for the two after the ‘Find Your Flame’ one) in Sonic Frontiers are actually pretty dang metal in spirit too. (Also, you guys need to check out the songs from the newer DOOM games, the soundtracks for those games are metal as all get out. The Devil May Cry games have some pretty metal soundtracks too.)

If there's a lyrical song in Sonic franchise I'd like to request you guys to hear, it's Ungravitify from Sonic Riders Zero Gravity and is very atmospheric.

We will definitely add that to the list of songs. We just recorded 2 more sonic reacts that will be coming out within the next week or 2. Thank you so much for the recommendation as well as the comment and for checking us out ❤ P.S. be on the look out for Ungravitify

@@basementuniverse There is another song from the game I feel you guys would jam to, Spiral Madness and it has a hype af and banger Guitar Solo with hints of electronic cause game takes place in a Futuristic World. Plus I find reactions to Sonic songs and you guys seemed likable and your area & quality of video was really appealing & good.
