I love seeing Kelly take on her older songs. Totally feels like a new radio-ready single.

Me too. One of a handful who’s voices have actually gotten better over time. I actually hated this song when it first came out because it sounded like she was on the verge of screaming rather than singing. The way she sounds here is how it should have always been.
@mariapulley5773 жыл бұрын
I listened back to her do this in studio in 2004. She’s so much better of a vocalist here. The tone of her voice has gotten warmer.. and each note resonates so well. Sooo good.

In this video she sings a FULL step down, for sure it sound absolut great but not even that difficult like in the original key.

Sing it one key lower than original and instead of her chasing the song to set up for the high notes, she has room to give us depth and swagger. Nice.

Agreed. She’s developed more soulfulness to her voice… she seems like she still belts so much though… praying she doesn’t have the same thing that happened to Meatloaf’s voice.

Clearest vocals overall since maybe ever. The C#5s were the clearest they’ve ever been. Personally, I just don’t think she’s ever liked that sustained F#5 seeing as it wasn’t supposed to even be in the demo. I’m sure at some point she’ll do it again (probably by accident since the B4-Bb4-A4-F#4 run she did here seems to be her note of choice) & when that day comes I really hope her C#s are just as clear as they were here.

You have to realize they literally did allll the songs we’ve seen in December except for maybe the voice, during this little set up. She probably sang 20 songs. And you don’t know how she felt when she woke up that day.

Its very common for artists to play live 1/2 step down as its less ware on the voice this is especially true for touring. Plus your voice changes with age and its just not possible to hit the same highs anymore. Tbh anyone who actually sings live has my respect
