We got a rescue dog during the pandemic. He is an excessive chewer, and will lay by the door when my kids leave for school in the morning. Well, he chewed the bottom rungs off of 2 kitchen chairs while hiding under our table by the door. Mixed breed= I think he is part beaver.

When my Ziggy was a pup he was left home for a few mins while we went to the store. We came home and found that he had climbed up the couch to get on the table and eat half a block of butter... The remnants of that feast was truely undesirable, but we still love him and bonus.. he doesn't do that anymore

I wish I knew how to submit stories. My service pup is a source of many! And our dream is to both meet Kelly... with me having a life goal of letting Kelly pet my service pup. 🥺 My favorite story to tell is that when we first went home together, she was 2 years old and fully trained when we were matched as a service dog team. She loves cats just as much as me, but my cat was a grumpy old man... think Mr. Frederickson from the movie "Up"... he liked her but pretended he didn't like Mr. F does with the little boy in the movie... so I took her to the shelter to pick out her own kitten. She helped a tiny little Grey kitten to escape the kitten room and were already plotting together seconds later. My SD is a golden named Chèvre (it's French for goat, but also the "official" name for Goat cheese. Her and her siblings were all named after cheese and called the "cheez-it" litter), who is nicknamed "Che" said like "shea" as in "Shea butter". She also answers to "piggy", "pupper", "penguin", and "silly". She picks things up for me, retrieves things from the other room, works to let me walk in public even when dizzy, amd has a natural ability to alert to me when im medically off.... including the 5 times that she caught septic shock before i had any other symptoms. Many don't know this, but service dogs need to keep up with and continuously practice commands and their training in order to stay active in their work. I do this by practicing her commands with her meals twice a day and a bit at night with treats before bed. We would do this with her kitten alongside her, eventually leading to her (now two year old) kitten, River, to learning many of her commands. River even does "come" better than Che. Che was one of the few in her litter that doesn't speak on command. I was determined to make her learn it. So I had the genuis idea to teach her kitten how to "speak" on command in order to teach Che.. instead, I now have two cats who know to meow on the command "speak" and a dog who still doesn't speak. Lol My pup is such a silly goose. And is OVERLY intelligent. So I have so many other funny stories. But that's probably my fav failure since I brought her home this time in 2018.

I have a little grey tabby cat named AggieBelle. She is blind due to a bad infection she had before she was rescued. She's stinkin' adorable but also a thief. One day I was eating a steak, and halfway through dinner I had to get something. When I came back she was running off with the remainder of my steak and was halfway across the living room when I caught up with her. I love her so much, but now I am very careful with my food cuz she'll steal off anyone's plate given half a chance❤️ 🐈

My Pomeranian thinks she’s big and bad when I take her out she growls and barks at anything that moves. Last night I take her out I see her stalking a frog she’s trying to sneak up in this low crawl she gets close and pounces barking madly this frog hops and lands on top of my dogs head and she freaked out she’s whining and turned to run and ran right into a flower pot she didn’t let it stop her she just staggered to the side and kept going until she made it to the door and runs into it before I get the door open. Once in the house she seemed very annoyed with me I am not exactly sure if it was because I was laughing hysterically or because I didn’t open the door fast enough 😂😂

Every Christmas we would get our dog a MASSIVE rawhide bone... she was a Golden Retriever, a light 65 pounds and the bone was probably 4 feet wide. Part of the hilarious ritual was her wanting to run outside with it but not easily figuring out the bone was too wide for the doorway... :-)

We had a Karelian Bear dog and I had cooked a whole chicken for dinner, left it to cool so we could use it for sandwiches and my husband came home from work and went in and then came back out to play with our kids. I went in and looked around and thought oh wow he put the chicken in the fridge and even cleaned the pan…nope Onyx had eaten the whole chicken, bones and all and the pan was so clean it could have gone back in the cupboard, she had done such a great job. We had pizza for dinner instead.

When I was 8 my parents decided it would be nice to foster a full grown Black Lab, this dog's owners were to old to care for him so they gave him to a family who had a child smaller than the dog itself. My house had a huge backyard (if the house didn't cut through it and it was level it would be about the same size as half a soccer field) so instead of my 10 year old brother and I being dragged through the neighborhood we would allow him to run around back there and played with him one day we were just running around with my soccer ball and playing when he decided to take a running leap over the 5' fence in the back. Apparently he ended up in the back of this man's pickup truck scaring him half to death luckily we had Conan's tags on because the man went up and around the middle school to loop back around to our neighborhood and found our house to drop him off. The stories don't end there I was still 8 but this before the pickup truck incident and my brother was 9 at the time, we were playing with play-do in the basement and had been using my folding play vanity (it was the EARLY 2000s as in 2001) to store the cups of play-do with the lids off or barely on. My mom had called us up to the kitchen and thinking nothing of it we left the play-do as is with Conan on the couch. When we finished eating dinner we went back down to find all of it gone and Conan against the sliding glass door looking miserable. An hour later there was neon dog puke every on the carpet in the middle of the floor. After cleaning it up it was still obvious something had happened just not what. Last story We hadn't had Conan long maybe a few weeks at this point but he wasn't aggressive or messy just really strong jaws that had wrecked a frisbee or 2. So when my brother and I were at school my parents would leave him in the basement with a lot of room to move around and the delicate stuff was locked up (Really big TV, VHS, CD player, and SEGA locked in a big wooden TV cabinet) but that meant our books and board games were left on the book shelves with the VHS tapes. We came home and my brother and I went downstairs as soon as our parents picked us up from the daycare and went to play with Conan and see if we needed to feed him. The basement looked like a warzone our board games were completely wrecked and a few books, too.

My mom came to visit and had her bag in the upstairs bedroom. We ran out to go the grocery store, which was right near the house, so I didn't put my 4 pound dog's usual gate up at the bottom of the stairs. When we got home, there was an entire trail of my mother's underwear from the bedroom door, down the stairs, to the front door, where she was waiting for us curled up on a pair. That little thing managed to unzip the bag and only disturb the underwear. She had the nickname "panty knapper" for a while. Thankfully, we are past that stage.

Hi Kelly! :D We have six dogs here, a Husky (the dad), a Collie/Rottweiler (the mom) and four of their children that are Husky/Rottweiler/Collie mix. One of the daughters is named Mya the destroyer for a reason, she can rip apart and destroy any dog toy presented to her in seconds, plus she's done a number on our walls; literally chewed chunks right out of it when she was younger. :D Thankfully they're all getting up there in years (the dad's almost 8, the mom's turning 8 and their children are all 7) and they're mellowing out a bit with age and not a lot gets destroyed anymore. :D I wish you the best of luck with your new puppy. Training and routine are key, we were lax at first and paid the penalty in walls, furniture, chew toys and carpeting. :D God bless you and your wonderful family. Have an awesome day! :D

I’ve had to go to the emergency room, not once, but twice, to get glitter removed from my eyes. The first time I was in 4th grade and my mom waited to take me to the dr for 4 days because she thought I was just making something up to get out of going to school. When she finally took me, the dr had some words with her for neglecting me. I don’t remember exactly what damage was done, but I had to wear an eye patch for a week and put these drops in my eye several times a day. He was so mad, he told my mom that if she had waited, even one more day, to bring me in, I could’ve lost my sight in that eye and she was really lucky there was no permanent damage. The second time I had put glitter on my eyes for an event, but I didn’t take my makeup off before I went to bed, and at some point during the night, I must’ve rubbed my eyes and pushed some glitter into my eye. I no longer use or go around any craft glitter and I only use cosmetic grade glitter for my eyes and I make sure to wash every little piece off my eyes before I go to bed.

1) That 1 with the dog drinking beer & the chick was just whining at him. Well, put down your phone and move the cup you lazya$$ 🤦♀️🙄😂 2) My naughty pet story: I’ve several but for just one… I was living in a tiny bachelor apartment & I added a bathmat to a pile of laundry just outside the bathroom so it wasn’t laying flat. Abut an hour or so later, I head to the bathroom & I trip going into it almost smacking my head on the vanity. I turn around & look down to see why I tripped… My one kitty decided the bathmat would suffice as a blanket so he crawled under it to take a nap. He’s a solid, 15 pound, part Maine Coon, kitty so a very solid tripping hazard 🤦♀️😂🤣

Our family dogs never did anything drastic, like making a mess in the laundry room(they were also small dogs, Bichon and Havanese) but the Bichon named Pearl(may she RIP) had a thing for underwear. We would find everyone’s underwear tore up everywhere. Had to invest in a tall hamper with a lid because of it lol Then our Havanese, Domino, has been a little angel. We signed him up for obedience school when he was eligible though so that may be why, I also trained him to do tricks. He’s still with us but Havanese are some mischievous things, so once we found that out he went right to dog training at Pet Smart haha I am married now and we have a 8yo and have always wanted our own dog but they ain’t cheap haha. Some day and when that day comes and they do something silly I’ll send it in!

*My husband is a third generation Charles Brown! I wanted to have Charlie Brown & little red headed girl (I'm a ginger) wedding invitations but he refused! *Dog story time. We have a very nervous, tornado in dog form, separation anxiety expert that is a Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix named Lily. She is our troublemaker. We also have an adorable, loving, little old man in a mini schnauzer/Yorkie/long haired dachshund body named Bogey after Humphrey Bogart. He had "affection" issues when we first rescued him. Anyway, they loved their PaPaw and we would take them there a good bit. One day I had the opportunity to go out of town with my husband but had no one to watch the kids (we only have furry ones). PaPaw asked to do it. I was nervous because they had never been away from me for more than a day. So, we agree and drop them off just reminding PaPaw how nervous Lily gets and apologized for anything she did in advance. About an hour into our trip, PaPaw called. He wanted to inform me that my precious little do nothing wrong Bogey climbed on his kitchen table and took a giant dump in front of him and our nieces and nephews! Mortified doesn't even come close to how I was feeling. Thankfully he thought it was hilarious and told us to have fun.

True story - my work pace was huge into Halloween, like full on you couldn’t work from the office during the Friday before Halloween because we’d turn cubicle rows into full on scenes and haunted houses and stuff. One year we did an Alice in wonder land theme and I did a giant chess board with 4ft tall 3D cardboard pieces that I spray painted and glittered bright red. They turned out amazing BUT literally red glitter carried on people’s shoes throughout the entirety of the multistory building. Needless to say we weren’t allowed to use glitter after that. Also, I definitely had glitter stuck to my driveway for like 2 years.
