100% reminds me of when I seen Chris Cornell on his solo a acoustic tour. I grew up with phonics in the background and always pigeon holed them as the type of band that I wouldn’t be into. I remember seeing a live recording in London 99 and they where really heavy n rocking te fuck - but it still took me a few years later appreciate them cuz guess what - I actually never set down and listened to the albums lol in them days they where getting heavy rotation on the radio for the hits and a couple of years later where never off MTV etc at the beginning of sky digital. Those hits/singles in my experience misrepresented the bands sound. Great records in all but years after when I starting digging into the albums I was mad surprised at how rocking the Phonics are and mostly as a 3 piece. -Kelly is a fantastic vocalist and proper guitarist. I don’t know maybe its just me but I think they are massively under appreciated with the purist crowd because of the success of the hit records - the Stereophonics are a proper ROCKNROLL BAND and they fuckn kill it when in the mode n zone
