It's been a long week for the folks at LIVE! With Kelly and Michael. But on Tuesday, after a conspicuous absence that began right after Michael Strahan announced his impending departure, Ripa returned to an emotional ovation from the studio audience. He went through all of the correct communiction with ABC when he was looking to move on to GMA. That's because that's not the issue here. The issue is that no one bothered to tell her about a fundamental change to her job. It's like if Paul McCartney and the Beatles walked into the studio one day and the record company execs were like "Meet your new drummer, Joe Schmo, oh yeah, we've been in talks to move Ringo over to one of our other bands for a while now, and it's a done deal he's gone but we just never bothered to mention it to you guys, even though it affects you more than anyone" .. It's not like no one knew and Strahan was going to go to some other network and had secretly been shopping around... No, Strahan moved from Live (an ABC show) to GMA (another ABC show). So everyone knew about it at ABC except Ripa, when the change affects her more than anyone (besides Michael of course). It's discourteous to allow that to happen as a company when the job fundamentally involves two co-hosts/co-performers/co-authors/co-whatever. Very discourteous. Especially since Kelly had been there for years you'd think someone would have said something like "Hey just so you know there have been discussions about changing co-hosts and Michael moving over to GMA"

Kelly is a sweetheart. I met her once and had my pic taken with her. She was so sweet and complimentary towards me. She spent a good 5 minutes talking to me and my mom. She was a popular star already on All My Children. She literally saved what was once "the Regis and Kathy" show. Talk about annoying - Kathy Gifford pushing Regis around. Puke. So yeah, this show belongs to Kelly. She saved it and made it what it is today. Don't be hating on her. She has also managed to keep her marriage together and out of the limelight and has raised good kids.

I totally understand why she was upset because it was on live television. But in a normal work environment like 99.9% of the country, a coworker doesn't have to tell you anything. For many years she stepped behind a co-host who always made it clear she was second. So her taking a stand when she needs to is because she paid her dues and deserves to be the lead now. And yes she should have been told before it went public. Before all this she kinda played herself down instead of showing she is smart, caring and giving.
