Crazy that that he came from there there has become the legend he is today. And can still come home and shred his home break like any other local. #GOAT

It seems to me that when you grow up and trashy surf it makes you better because you have to make do with what you have and power through it.
@defdog75153 жыл бұрын
yup definitely, it fun to see what aerials they can do when the waves are literally flat
@cristobilllumberg24733 жыл бұрын
also, east coast waves break very top to bottom. Not as easy of a takeoff such as lower trestles, for example. Waves like that are EASY

@@cristobilllumberg2473 yeah i try to explain that to my Calli friends like hey this shit is quick so your pop up game better be good😂 they all say that surfing Florida has made them better back home cause you really gotta be fast here to get into waves.
@chloewangensteen76602 жыл бұрын
@@bignickenergy2042 I learned how to surf here since I live in cocoa beach and I will say that if you can’t pop up quick you aren’t getting a wave. This is honestly so true. It’s so much more work and control and people don’t even realize

@@bignickenergy2042 popping up on Florida waves was my biggest enemy when I was just starting out. Once I was on the wave I was good but getting up was hard because your timing has to be perfect

How do they plan the tournament on like one of the best days of surf at CBP all year 😅

how in the world does he always know how to catch the wave, at the point where it breaks and propels him forward? the wave is behind him and he's flowing with it, and its breaking and he's changing speeds with the wave as its breaking. it starts to literally break just a moment after he originally pops up. if the pop up motion is happening from 0:13 to 0:15 then look at the literal second between 0:15 to 0:16 and the motion of the wave to the right of him. how does he know what to read the wave for, what is he looking for when he decides to pop up?

any surfer with a couple years experience can easily do this without even thinking about it. theres not necessarily any trick to it, it all comes down to experience
@chaseturknett3 жыл бұрын
@@blakewickens8373 yep, I’ve been surfing for 10 years now and it’s all about reading waves properly which comes with years of experience. I remember in my early years my buddy who has been surfing his whole life would catch all the good waves while I was sitting on my board. Being observant of incoming sets has helped big time.

I'm your fan!!! I'm your admirer!!! I only have one sadness about you, that you throw your fans away like trash, I'm one of them, but still, I'm your fan!!! I have observed your journeys, trajectories and struggles, I reflect a lot on your strength, nothing is easy, but we need to move for things to happen, even with struggles and difficulties, problems, including: this is our motto: struggles and wars daily, that try to stop us from getting where we want, but we are insistent in everything, so that we can get there... of course, clinging to God, regardless of religious belief, this is the only way we can get there, that's it. It's all good!!! I'm your fan!!! May God bless you so much, always including your family!!! Happy Holidays, my friend from far away!!! Please don't throw me away!!! Here’s to 2024, with many victories and achievements!!! These are the wishes of your friend from afar: Rubenn Dean Paul Alws "Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro" Brazil!!! (Google/KZbin)

Florida gets heat for having “small crappy waves” but guess who got all them world titles??? Haha

Exactly exactly. Those “small crappy waves” make you a better surfer as you know how to work it with the bare minimum

You call that SLATER RIPPING? sLATER CAN SURF DOING THINGS THAT MAKE ME WONDER ......iS HE REALY HUMAN? hE LOOKS HUMAN! Laing in the water with feet on his board on rtheinsideof a wave and stands up to step off onto the sand 30 feet away. I have once did something kibd of like that in my mind but ai was freeboarding behind a boat full of people in Parker. I hit the lip of the wake sprayed the people near the back /middle of the boat with my back in the water. Saw them yelling HE IS DOWN to the driver but put mor weight down on my feet and stood and kept riding. It is not the same when a rope on a boat helps you up and they yell he is back uo somehow keep going. I will take the mrmory of it and smile anyway it was fun . I can surf and have had some great waves like living close to the Point in Newport Beach . It is not consistently Epic but 4-5 times a year was why they nicknamed it the California Pipeline. Kelly has had way better waves and dothings on a board that make me wonder how that is possable. Has a great sponser for it from Quick too. I only got the ok to put Quick party on my fliers the first night I started booking bands promoting T ZBird Friday nights in Zooport.By having the band Box Car Wino who sugested the name and were featured on rhe Quicksilver Surf Snowboard Video Cheap& Deep that year . Fri right betweeen the OPpro and US open cosurf cntestsi just north in HB
