Useful tip! I use a cutting mat, a metal rule and a rotary cutter as I can never seem to get the fringes straight with scissors.

I never thought to leave the extra for after future washes. What a good plan! My struggle is always in getting the knots evenly distanced from the weaving.

Yes, even knots can definitely be a challenge!

Wouldn't it be easier to use a rotary cutter on the fringe after washing?

I often use a rotary cutter but a lot of newer weavers who don't sew won't have them, so scissors are a great option.
