Thank you! I missed the first video that says you only pick up slotted threads for the pickup- and I had quite the perplexing kerfluffle - but I figured it out! Thank you for the stellar videos! I am on my way!

If I wanted to make the vertical thread red for a true window pane look how many wars threads would I count over and between?
@KellyCasanova7 жыл бұрын
To make the vertical threads red as well, you would need to warp those threads as red in the warping process.

@@KellyCasanova How convenient! ;-) Thank you Kelly and warm greetings from Holland. Have a nice day!

What kind of yarn is that please? And is that a 7.5 dent heddle or smaller? Thank you, love your videos, as soon as I get one or two simple projects completed I will subscribe to you lessons.
@KellyCasanova7 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary, the yarn is Australian 8ply cotton (light worsted, dk) and the reed is a 7.5 :)
@rosemarycopeland24866 жыл бұрын
Can I use an 8 dent? Never heard of a 7.5
@KellyCasanova6 жыл бұрын
Yes, 8 dent is fine. Ashford makes a 7.5 instead of an 8 :)

Wonder if the window panes would show if the weft were white also - or the same color as the warp... I’ve been needing to make an all white/off white table runner.
@KellyCasanova3 жыл бұрын
I've used white on white (well, my yarn was slightly off white, tending towards cream) with this pattern - it looks great! The texture really shows and it's a very classic look.

@@KellyCasanova Thanks, Kelly❣️ Btw, I warped my loom with Sugar n Cream on a 10 dent as you suggested for your two red, white, and peacock kitchen towels. I was excited about using a 10 dent and a pickup stick for the pattern on one of the towels.When I tried to open a shed, however, everything got jammed and I wasn’t able to weave at all. So I untied the ends and slipped them off the 10 and resleyed on an 8. So I think I’ll try the windowpane now. I have an older 19” Glimakra Emilia and maybe my 10 is just too small for worsted weight cotton. Thanks for listening, Kelly❣️

Please, tell me, how much is a loom? And where do you live? I live in Russia we have such a loom costs about $ 1,000
@KellyCasanova7 жыл бұрын
It depends on the loom. In Australia, my 60cm rigid heddle loom is worth around $265AUD without a stand.

New weaver and loving your videos! Just curious, why do you have two of the cardboard layering sticks in at the bottom?
@KellyCasanova6 жыл бұрын
I use them instead of weaving a waste yarn header, to separate the warp threads and even them out before beginning to weave the actual piece ;)
