Hmmm k and this is why I question Demi. Demi said "I'm still getting used to it because I grew up female my whole life until a few months ago". Yes, Demi started going by they/them a few months ago but isnt that something "they" always felt "their" whole life. That's why someone comes out as nonbinary or trans...because they knew they always knew and never really identified with their gender. The way Demi put it, it just sounded like "they" just up and decided to come out as nonbinary. And if you hear the story of when Demi started to think she was nonbinary, it's a bit suspicious honestly and truly seems like a PR stunt. Also, Demi associated with Alok and that's disgusting.

i love demi and i’ll always be a fan. i think they’re amazing but i do agree with you to some extent on this because it isn’t something demi has felt their whole life. i think they’re confused and their explanation for it is mainly “i want to throw out gender norms” which is great and all but i just think demi doesn’t know the way to do it and thinks by changing pronouns it is the way to solve it... which it isn’t. I think demi is going to find their way back and eventually figure things out in their life and switch back to atleast she/they. but i don’t think it’s a PR stunt i just think demi’s trying to figure themself out

Honestly when you grow up and nothing is never mentioned or it's not conditioned how would you know. I don't think we talked about non binary people prior to 2010 and even then it was really not discussed so it's kinda hard to know that how you feel even exists out there. Even if eventually Demi realizes that doesn't fit then it's not for us to judge that or know when and if it will happen, and identity can feel genuine for the time you have it and then just feel off.

My God, what is with all the hate comments here. What Demi says or does is their choice and their choice only, we can’t control what they do. Besides, so what if they’re non-binary? Being non-binary isn’t some trend, it’s a matter of identity (being neither/both male and female). I think it’s about high time these people got more representation without feeling afraid of who they are. Just the same if said non-binary person is black, lesbian, autistic, Latino, asexual, and otherwise. You can think what you want, but if you’ve nothing nice or supportive to say, best not say anything at all. Plus, how would you all feel if you were gay, or trans, or ace, or had a different skin color and were marginalized for it? You wouldn’t feel very good then, would you? I respect everyone's gender and sexual identity, and am omnisexual myself, but I will never remember to call someone they or them when they're right in front of me lol. It's not a disrespect thing, it's just completely unnatural in the way we are all taught to speak properly and refer to someone present. So unless I'm talking about that person and they're not in front of me, I'm either naturally gonna call them by their name by their name or she or him.
