It's great that you have an appreciation for Tom Petty. It's good to know that someone who loves all the intricacies of a Gilmour also sees the beauty of Petty! Thanks for all your great work!

Thanks mate. Funny thing is, I never really much cared for Petty when he was at his peak. His music was always just "there" and pleasant enough to listen to, but generally not really my thing. Never made an effort to see him live when he came to town, or to buy his records etc... It's only now that he's gone and maybe that I'm a little bit older and wiser, do I see just how brilliant a songwriter he was.

I was the same way! When I was younger, I preferred hard rock/metal. Now, when a Tom Petty song comes to mind, or I happen to hear one, I sit down and figure it out. Thanks for this one. Though not one of his biggest hits... hey, why not! Thanks KDA! Maybe one day you'll teach the lead parts to "I'd Love To Change The World", from 1971. Alvin Lee was a soloing fool in his day!

Now there's a track I need to sit down and do a tutorial for while it's hot.

Just watched a live version of it from Chicago 7 years ago and there were no capos on either Mike's or Tom's guitars but the pitch was the same as if a capo on the first fret so it looks like they did tune their guitars up the 1/2 step to put in F in the recording and live but playing 1st position chords.

They did, I’ve heard Mike Campbell say his guitar was turned to f#
