I'm an old 65 year old man. Older then I should be feeling I just wanted to say I really enjoy the way y'all listen to your music. It reminds me of my homeless days back in Dallas. We were always on the hunt for dope, weapons are women. 98% of the time we found none of these things. Eventually we fed into a small enclave of seven and eight people under a bridge on Highway 30 in Dallas. Eventually we got bigger and took up underpasses on highway 45, Highway 30 and Highway 35. We were known as the crupple-catcher-crusher. This must be understood like between a Bradbury story, a Matheson book, Frankenstein, Revelation and decision time.

Wonderful reaction to a wonderful song by a guitar genius.I swear I saw a tear in Rich's eye at the exact same time, I, a 66-year-old man also started to well up and I cried a little, which is very out of character but I "think" I was shedding a tear, nostalgically, for Gary and all those who have passed because as you get older one-by-one both personally and in the wider World of the Entertainment World you grew up in they pass on. Yesterday I realized that 5 of the stars in my favourite UK Comedy/Drama of the 1980s have now passed already...

I remember buying Gary’s ‘Victims of the Future’ album in the mid-80’s and it was his voice as much as his guitar work that hooked me. Back then he was playing more a heavy rock style and he went to the blues thing in the 90’s. Either way, the guy is a legend of rock and of blues. When he hits those high notes on his Les Paul it’s like someone just poured warm honey in my ears.

IMHO, Gary Moore is the greatest musician to have graced graced us with his talents. Guitarist, obviously, no else is close. He didn't just play notes. He played his emotions and was able to make us feel them. His singing ability , although often overlooked and definitely underrated, is evident in this performance. The most overlooked aspect of his talent was his composing ability. He wrote some of the most devastingly beautiful rock ballads ever recorded; some instrumentals, some with singing...all will touch your soul. Great choice.

I've grown up listening to amazing guitarists, be it Angus Young, be it Tony Iommi, be it Billy Gibbons, be it Brian May, be it David Gilmour, be it ... you get the drift. Really, truly great players - but not a single one of them made me go "THAT is what I want to be able to do!". Until Gary Moore came along with Still Got The Blues. The way he makes his guitar sing and wail in this song is responsible for me picking up the guitar. It's just something else. If you took the vocals away you'd still know what the song is about. He was so damn good emotionally and technically. He could go for a shred in an emotional song without it sounding out of place. He was incredible and he will always be my favorite player.

It may sound weird to say but the first time I heard Gary it was a muzak version playing at a cinema as we waited in our seats. I went up to the usher and asked him what the song was. He went to the back and came back telling me it was called Parissienne Walkways. Later that month I'd discover Michael Schenker's Bijou Pleasurette and Arbory Hill the same way. I picked up the Albums (yes those were the days of vinyl first) immediately and consider them 2 of my top 5 guitarists of all time (and Gary 1 of my top 5 vocalist/storytellers). Gawd, I miss him. Still find myself hoping someday someone'll find a "lost" unreleased CD by him. It would be a dream come true. Btw, amazing job on the musical match-up, Kel! Spot-on!
