Well, i am so thankful that you both share this here.. Wow..first: Maiden is not a 'Band' with true Fans. Its ...one big family. Such amazing sisters and bloodbrothers all over this planet. It could be peace on earth if everybody listen and unterstand Maiden. In your reactions, in your eyes and comments i saw , song after song, you became my Sister and Brother. I'm Form Germany (so sorry, for my bad english. But i must write to you my thoughst) and Maidenfreak since 1986. Doesnt matter how long, if you know what they are about, after listening just few Songs. Then you're right, and lovely, kind humans. Listening to Bruce (En Vio DvD) before they play "Bloodbrothers" gives me goosebombs and makes me cry each time. As he said" It doesnt matter what you are..male, female, Moslem, christians, jewish, Catholic, doesnt matter, if you're Maiden fan, you are a part of one fucking world and one family, my friends "....thats so true and easy. Maiden means everything to me. As my Sister (age 27) died in a carcrash, (by an fucking drunken asshole) i began kill myself slowly...with "Devil" Alcohol. After nearly 18 wasted years of drinking i finaly go in Rehab in 2010. And in this 9 years i never had one drink again. So close to death i was. And,no joke, i didn't make my way, never had the strenght to endure this fight, without two things...1. the music and life oft IRON MAIDEN..and GARY MOORE. 2. the philosophy of BRUCE LEE. By the way..do you know that Maiden make their concert-tickets-prices in their own opinions.? For example, in poor countries , like Chile, Brasil, the ticket prices are very low..so that even Fans who doesn't have that money, poor fan's can see their show. Ist that a huge, kindly selfless thing? Did you know how much Bands like Metallica..or KISS ask for one ticket? Shame on them...so, enough now. Thank You from my heart and soul...Kel'nRich...bless you....bloodsister and bloodbrother....greetings..Stefan from Germany

Hey guys. This is such a great song. It is definitely one of my favorites from them. I've been a Maiden fan since the Piece Of Mind album - 1984 (I think). That's when I was introduced to them. My best friend came over to my house to hang out and asked me if he could put a tape in my stereo. I asked who it was and he said "trust me, you'll like it". I did and after about 3 songs, I asked who it was again and he told me Iron Maiden. I have loved them ever since and they are my all-time favorite band. I think I've seen this reaction when you published it, but I just watched it again. At this moment, you've seen them a few days ago. I'm sure you loved the show and am anxiously waiting to see your review of it. I will be seeing them in a month or so in Phoenix, Az. I can't wait. I've seen them about 3 times before. They always put on such an amazing show.

I was a huge Iron Maiden fan growing up. As I grew up I listened to less and less new music. Went maybe 20 years without hearing any Iron Maiden songs after 7th son. Then I heard these kids from the O’Keefe Music Foundation (OMF) play an Iron Maiden song I had never heard before called “The Longest Day” based on movie and book of the same name about the D-day invasion. And they blew me away at how good it was. Then I heard them do another song I had never heard “Ghost of the Navigator” different lineup of kids but no less impressive. So through these kids I discovered Iron Maiden was still this massive band in every country in the world except the USA and they had made a couple more kick ass records. But this is not about Maiden. I would like to see you react to first Iron Maiden’s “The Longest Day” followed by these kids doing the same song. And then maybe doing the same for more of these kids covers. They always have a different lineup of kids with every song and they hardly ever play the songs exactly as the originals. The greatest thing about the OMF is the playlist. No top 40 hits here. These kids do Maiden, Pantera, Judas Priest, Slayer, Tool, Dream Theatre, way too many Danzig and much more. The talent is unbelievable. Just a thought.

Just for the purpose of info, this song was based off an animated story based on standard government information in the 80s on what to do in the event of a nuclear attack. When this song came out I made a point of finding and watching the story, I found it added more imagery to the song for me. Found this info on KZbin for the story kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4bOq5Kah66Zm7c Anyway, on to my point for writing, other than congratulating you on your magical discovery of music journey. I’d recommend The Talisman(Maiden), I enjoyed this song but more so since it applied to me. The basics of the song is that it’s about the early European settlers setting off to the new world to fulfill their dreams. I’m from England and my fiancé American, so moved to the US to get married and live. Granted my trip by airplane was a degree easier and less fraught with danger than sailing across the pond. I’ll also give mentions to Arc of space - one of Bruce’s solo songs. Thin line between love and hate, another Maiden song. Honorable mentions... The Darkride - Helloween (different vocalist to their early songs). Fiddler on the green - Demons & Wizards. Ghost of freedom - Iced Earth. Princes of the universe - Queen
