@SurprisinglyDeep11 ай бұрын
Even if there was little to no immigration there's still be a supply issue. The main issue is excessive zoning and building codes, not immigrants per say. If we wanted to in this country we could fairly easy create simple to mass produce modular apartment and condo buldings, tiny homes and/or mobile home trailers for people to live in. (If even the Soviet Union could mass produce cheap housing back in the 1960s and the small city state of Singapore built enough public housing buildings for 70% of their population then a rich country like our country Canada could sure as $h1+ do something similar if we pushed hard enough.) Also some single family homes could be purchased and turned into multi-family homes for the poor and the needy. There's just a combined lack of political willpower and creativity as well as NIMBYism and too many legal liabilities involved.

@@tedlivermore6955 Do yourself a favour google search "tiny homes" and "tiny homes homeless village". A cheap tiny home is just like a little 1 room shack or garden shed like building without a kitchen, bathroom or electricity for a homeless person to sleep and sit in. While some tiny homes look like cabins or villas the ones installed at most homeless villages throughout North America are very basic utilitarian little buildings. Usually a homeless village just has like one "cooking building" and "multi-media building" that all the homeless people there share. A cheap tiny home just costs a few thousand bucks once to build. The government snf the taxpayers don't need to pay he homeless guys rent or electricity if they're living in the tiny homes, just the electricity and upkeep on the "cooking building" and "multimedia buulding" 200 or more people share (likely less then rent for a homeless guy's subsidised rent if he were inside a regular apartment building.) Also many of the homeless people could then hopefully use the tiny homes homeless village as an official addrwss on job applications, while nobody can use a tent pitched on the side of the road as an address. Also soon nobody will need to pay for hospital visots for those homeless people getting conditions like frostbite and/or hypothermia. Also the threat of losing their tiny home and being kicked out of the homeless village and/or having the cops called to their official address will hopefully keep the criminal monded amongst the group of homeless people in line. Like's it's a PITA for a cop to issue arrest warrants foe people without permanent addresses.

Blame the idiots who decided BC needed to legalize drugs. I'd prefer they made federal laws exempting addicts from getting any emergency help. We have medically assist suicide, there's no difference in my eyes. They're nothing but burdens. I'd know, I was one and yes, I refused to seek attention when I needed it because unlike addicts today, I understood there are consequences for my decisions. BC has had severe widspread issues with drug addiction since the 1990s at least. There's a wide range of options available to deal with drug addicted homeless people between "give them all stays at celebrity rehad centres" and "just let em all rot." Like involuntarily rehab for drug addictions exists, we just don't do it often here in Canada. Like huge numbers of people in China used to be addicted to opium due to the Opium Wars until the nascent Chinese communist government despite all its flaws got tens of thousands to sddicts to stop using opium due to forcing them all into involuntary rehab. You've grown past your issues as a former drug addict and are now a functioning contributing member of society. Many if not most drug addicts also deserve the opportunity to one day hopefully make something out of themselves and give back to society. Like as many people know street drugs seriously mess up peoples dopamine receptors and neo-cortex which makes getting off drugs all the harder. Like while I never did street drugs other then occaisonally some pot and think that anybody nowadays who gets into street drugs nowadays despite being able to instantly research them ahead of time is a fool, I sympathise with how hard it must be for most drug addicts to get clean due to hearing about the possible horrors of withdrawal and how drug addiction is sometimes described as like being possessed by the devil himself.

Sad to see,but we are also to blame ..I grew up in a nice blue collar town that had approx 9 industries/ factories including a ship yard. Everyone worked, own homes and lived comfortably. I worked in one of the factories making car windows in the 90's and I saw First hand how alot of the employees Abused the systems as in work compensations,sick leave etc. I saw a employee who would purposely dislocate his shoulders every spring ,so he could get the summer off on comp. Back injuries were the biggest scams.Rule of thumb....a day off for every stitch,even if it never hinderd your job performance. I cut my thumb and got 4 stitches,come back to work after getting them ,and my rep asked why I came back....I could take 4 days off sick leave.....Why would I do that?????. Workers would sabotage the machianery or lines so they could have down time which would cost the company money due to loss of production.My husband was a supervisor at on of the auto plants and he saw alot of that too,and due to the union,the company had a Very hard time getting rid of these a^^h^les. The town is now nothing but a huge tourist industry with ski hills and condos and minimum wage jobs with no benifits and depending on the seasons.Every job I worked at ,and I'm retired now,there where Always scamers trying to screw the system .I found that alot of the industries left due to hight cost of payout for workman's comp ,and so called sick leave.People want less physical work and more pay for less work.Plain and simple.I saw the immigrants come over and yes....they Will work for the pay ,and for all the over time.They do the jobs that we Canadians find beneath us. I know that due to loss of big industries in Canada,by going over seas were people will work ,only part time minimum wage jobs are left,Unless you get a education and get training in a trade or a degree .There are jobs ,lots if them,but Canadians are lazy,and finding it easier to live off the Governnent which is actually money from people who do work and pay taxes. We cry cause the industries left cause we scamed them and we refuse to work at minimum wage jobs,so naturally the immigrants come over and do it,and start to buy up everything.Wonderful. The other thing is....alot say they prefer to live like that.....so why are we worried.....their Choice, let them have at it then.🤷♀️,they do not pay taxes and collect benefits from the hard working man's back...... hey...perfect life🤷♀️

That's one side of the story, and I believe it's mostly correct. The other side is big business choosing not to pay out more than that can get away with, with the majority of their workers. Taking Government payout, tax payers money, and get nothing back. Big business and big government together make big corruption, follow the money. Big business want big returns and turn to cheap labour, overseas, and screw the common people over. Profit margins are too small in this high wage country, profit still there but just not enough for big business. Love of gain. Living wage too high for them. All out greed, period.
