Everyone needs to slow down & think for a second before rushing to judgment. Three things happened here with this trade & they are the following: 1. LA swapped 1st rd picks with Seattle they moved from 2 to 9. 2. They gained an efficient 17 pts a game scoring PG with championship pedigree to add to a young team that needs to learn how to win. 3. They gave up their 13th pick a second rd pick. The three important aspects aspect of trade to remember are the following: 1. LA traded an unknown for known at a position of need. That’s a helluva win IMO 👏 If it works out KP will definitely resign long term so it’s win-win for her & LA. 2. They will still get a high value rookie in this draft. 3. They gave up a 2nd rd pick that odds & history shows will not make roster or even contribute anything next year if they did make it. They are also more than likely to be cut the following season. This is why I say if you have 2 good young players F! them picks. It’s hard for 1st rd picks to even make W rosters or even contribute in that 1st year & forget about 2nd rd picks. There’s a reason the W is considered the hardest league to make it in because it’s true! This was not a bad deal in if fact it was very smart deal for LA IMO there really is no clear cut #1 pick & there is very little difference talent wise between 1-10. Drafting rule #1 NEVER! draft for need or a specific position you pick the best player period! You can always trade down or the move players to get something you need later. That’s why there are so many bust draft picks because teams reach for players out of need instead of simply picking the best player when the time comes. But bravo LA 👏 this was a great trade for them & Seattle if the 2nd draft pick works out but that’s a big unknown regardless of how you may feel about a players potential. They still have to prove they can do it in the W. It was bad trade for Aces. IMO Hell Yeah! LA is in great shape to make a run to the playoffs & compete for a championship once Cam is back healthy IMO. 1. KP 2. Rae Burrell 3. Rickea Jackson 4. Hamby 5. Cam Brink Remove KP at point & add CC & it’s the perfect roster for her, long athletic 3 & D wings, & stretch 5. that provides elite rim protecting. The Sparks will be the W’s version of Celtics. It’s a perfect modern 🏀 lineup. I said months ago that LA had a better young core than the Fever & they will have a better team if the Fever don’t improve their roster. It showed in their games last year. Everyone loves these Fever players but they are mid all of them except for CC. She made them look better than they are but when they played against the top teams it showed. They need to add talent to help CC period! Or they will get left behind & CC will leave in 3 years. They are on the clock to deliver her teammates that can help her win championships.

Sparks had no way to get Page clearly. WNBA teams are trying to get players that sell tickets and get TV ratings. Plum does both. Winning the championship is less useful for selling tickets than having the right players on your team. Just look at the Fever!!!!

This has to be one of the stupidists things the Sparks could do. Give up the 2nd pick? Stupid. Plum will likely cost a max contract for a 1 year loan and the sparks aren't going to be strong enough to challenge for the championship. Next year after the new CBA the sparks are going to have to negotiate with Plum again. With the 2 pick they could have had Olivia Miles, on a rookie contract of course, start building a championship team.
